Well I managed to put new spark plugs in, the top middle lead needs replacing it's badly split, it looks to me it has been tampered with recently as around the spark plug there was very nice golden fresh oil around it looks as though someone has poured it down to releave the spark plug, most possibley when I had it serviced. the HT lead tool did the job fine I bought one of eBay, the only thing I did struggle with was getting the bottom left spark plug out and the tool I got for that was rubbish it was to fat to get to the plug with all the other thing that get in the way. SPARK PLUG Removal Spanner Wrench Tool for SMART CITY-COUPE 10/14mm 16/21mm Euro item number, don't bother getting 270945483005 and also the bottom left spark plug had some black oil around it just on the threads though is this something to worry about? The tip looks fine.

Right my spark plugs have arrived plus spark plug lead removal, do I need to disconnect the battery?

Yeah gasoline with 57936.384 kms. I don't know how old they are so I have ordered NGK x6 LKR8A plugs, I'm going to have a go at fitting them.

Hi my smart car had a service not to long ago and the garage where I had the service done they told me that they haven't put new spark plugs in, my worry is that my smart is 04 reg with 36000 miles on the clock I have know service history on it, should I change them? The car runs great though starts up first time.

So it's a optional extra then I know mine hasn't.

Which smart cars have the power steering? What age & particular model, I'm new to smarts, mine is a 2004 smart for two passion city glass roof no power steering. I bet it makes a big difference when parking up.

When I got the car serviced 2 week ago advised me that I need new front shocks & that they will not pass mot, it is not till march though so no rush. I have had a good look at them & there not in the best of conditions.

New discs & pads fitted, brakes work much better:-) next job on my list is new front shocks.

Still no luck with getting a radio code, I have been told that mercedes smart will sort it but at a price.

Yeah I have emailed grundig will have to see now if they get back to me I hope so.

How can I get my stereo to work? needs re-coding I haven't got codes for this. The guy I bought the smart of he put a new car battery on it not to long ago & the stereo has never worked since. Is it best for me to take the original one out and get a new cheap one.

I was looking at getting a car for My daughter 17 at the time 12 month's ago so wanted something cheap to insurance and run for her, I had a look at quite a few smart cars with no joy in finding a good one. I gave up looking in the end & ended up get her a very nice yellow ford ka for her, anyway ever since with me looking at smart cars I have kind of caught the bug and wanted one for my self :-) & now I have got 1 I love it.
