I am a long term owner of multiple Smart Cars. On one of my current cars, I do have a factory bike rack, but was told by more than one dealership they are now made from “Unobtainium” and not available for my daughter’s car. (They are also not to be found on the used market) I know many folks who have a similar desire to put a bike rack on their Smart Car, so I post this for your interest. The rack is $189 US for a single and $279 for a double rack. The rack fits 2005 Smart Fortwo through to about 2017, whenever MB changed the rear mounts this rack uses.
