  1. Ok, two successes. A local shop that I havent dealt with before actually took the time to erase my codes for free. Wouldnt even take money for donuts. I can recommend German Automotive in Niagara Falls. The car is working fine again. I also figured out the Delphi software this afternoon. Apparently you cant just copy and paste the gencode. I had to resort to using "control C" and "control V" to transfer the codes. First time I've run into that for a long time. Thanks for the help and suggestions guys.
  2. The car has been running nicely for some time now, until this morni g. I was coming down a long hill, and put it into manual shift. Kept it at about 3500rpm down the hill, then shifted back into automatic. Stopped at a stoplight, and pulling away I noticed it had gone into gimp mode. Shut down, let it sit to no avail. No codes showing, everything else seems fine. New turbo has been fine for a year now, I removed the egr and installed Iggies emulator a couple years ago, and everything has been fine. This happened a couple years ago as well now thinking about it, just after coming down a long hill. Ended up having to go to Uncle Glens, where he put it on his Star system, found some hidden codes, erased them and the car has been fine since.. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen, and if putti g it on a Star system is the only way to remedy it. I hate driving for 4 hours in gimp mode to London just to have a code erased. A regular obd2 reader/eraser that I have doesnt find any codes, so wont fix the issue. Thanks guys
  3. On my cf51 it states that 2020 is not a valid Win32 application
  4. The version I got is 2020.23 and maybe it's only for newer windows. I did get it to load on a newer PC running win10, but I had trouble with entering the key gen. I have a Panasonic cf51 that I've been using but yesterday it wouldnt load. I'll try again
  5. So.....my delphi came in from fleabay today, and I tried setting it up. First in ny old XP laptop that I use for that sort if stuff. Says it's not a 32bit program so it wont run the install. Then I tried on a new Windows 10 machine. Comes up saying there is a serious virus threat on the CD. So I stopped and cleared the threats. Well, there goes $50 and I'm still in gimp mode. Aaargh! Oh yeah, it didnt want to install on the newer laptop either
  6. Its not something that corrects itself over time, and it's not over boosting. Last time I had to take it to Glens and he found a hidden code. Cant remember what it was but it's a stupid code, not related to anything that is wrong with the car. 8m just asking if theres something I can uy shortof a Star system that can find all the Mercedes codes. This one is a pita!
  7. Has anyone else tried one of the $200cdn mufflers out of the Ukraine? I've just gotten and installed one, and am quite impressed for the price. Quiet, and easy to install
  8. Ok, almost two years, and a few broken muffler clamps (large hose clamps), and now the pipe has shattered just at the manifold clamp. Oh well, worth a try. Anybody got a good used muffler?
  9. I havent seen where to post pictures that are worth sharing
  10. It figures, I have a KWP2000, that already had the connectors set up the way we need for the smart, and I still get the "kick not found" error.I've tried several times, and always the same. Aargh
  11. the strap is what initially broke, so I put a hose clam around it, and that has been fine. The other day however, the bracket cracked, making a good rattle. I had some old conveyor belt lyiing around, so I wedged a small bit between the bracket and the muffler, and used the hoseclamp to secure it. So far, so good
  12. Decided to do an oil change today. Easy as usual, right? No, it wont start now, just cranks, and coughs and sputters, then just it will just crank. Also, now the fuel/water light is on for the first time ever. The fuel level had just gone to 5 litres from 1 blob before I started the oil change and put the back end up on ramps. I put it back on the ground, and added a few litres of fuel. No difference. If I cycle the ignition a few times it will sometimes fire for a second or two before it just cranks again. Seriously, every time I do maintenance on this thing it does something else to spite me. ARRGH!
  13. I had a closer look at it, and whoever put the relay in previously has patched into one of the headlight circuits, and hooked two headlight output wires to the one relay. Way too much load, as it has partially melted the output terminal on the relay. I'll have to fix that too
  14. Put the relay circuit in. Connected to a switched fuse connector on the SAM for trigger, and to the large power terminal for power. Both are fused now. Seems to work fine. Thanks for the help
  15. I thought someone else said that you will get an error code if you just bypass the SAM fuel pump circuit under certain conditions
  16. Ok, some success today. Took out the sam, and almost all of the solder connections on the gang of 10 were bad. Resoldered them and put it back together. Still no start. Checked for voltage on the red/black wire and there was nothing. Jumpered that wire to power, and the car starts! The number 10 terminal on the brown connector is bad so it isnt conducting power. I'll see about a new connector at MB tomorrow. I also noticed that someone has put in a relay for I think a headlight circuit. One terminal on it looks cooked too so I'll have to investigate that as well. Thanks for the help guys, hopefully Ive got it now. Rain has started again, so I'm done for today. Stupid engineers!
  17. Fuse 16 is good. Without removing the SAM it doesnt look like its ever seen water up in there. Doesn't seem like the low pressure pump is working, although I really cant ever remember hearing it cycle anyhow
  18. Filter is changed but no fuel pressure. Water light is still on
  19. I got a filter yesterday at crappy tire, and will start by tackling that, but I will check for output
  20. How long have you been maintenancing your good car now haha
  21. If I had a proper place to work on it, I wouldn't mind so much. I still like it when its not being a PITA
  22. yeah, that's what I'm leaning towards.Great, now that the temp is dropping, and its on a gravel driveway. Not looking forward to this. It seems every time I do something to the car, something else screws up. getting a little peeved with it
