  1. Hey smartdriver...sorry for my late answer. I checked the connectors above and also changed the second 74HC151 multiplex chip. After that, I checked all connections again and noticed that one pin of the first multiplexer chip was not soldered correctly. (see picture, red arrow) I cleanded the whole circuit board with alcohol and put the SAM back in the car. Everything is working now left indicator, right indicator, engine, .... The water-damage was caused by a leaky glass windshield (Frontwindow)....which I have to change the next few days. Thank you so much for your help
  2. Thank you so much for your answer. I will check that this evening :-)
  3. Hi, i own a Smart Fortwo (450) CDI Passion 2005 and my SAM got water flooded, too. The effect: Motor did not start anymore, no working front lights and a permanent blinking left indicator. I opended the SAM an detected that one of the 74HC151 seems to have a problem. So i unsoldered Connector 11-8, 11-9, the damaged 74HC151 multiplex chip and cleaned the whole board. Then I soldered a new 74HC151 and the Connectors 11-8, 11-9. Result: Nearly everything is working, only left and right indicator is not working. The indicators are working if the car gets closed/opened by key or if hazard flasher is active. I checked connection between both 74HC151 listed the answers above. All three lines are ok. I checked the stalk, as well. The stalk is ok, too. Can you help me?
