About SmartieUSA

  1. This sounds like the issue I have been troubleshooting on my 2017 Brabus. Car returned to dealer several times with no resolution so I dug deeper. Turns out the way the pop off valve works there is a delay in the boost dump and the boost is dumped with a delay resulting in the single POP and the cough we experience instead of the typical turbo che-che-che-che we got on the older cars and on most performance turbo cars. The cause is the way the boost is exited to the muffler. There is an aftermarket pop-off valve modification that manufacturer claims corrects the problem. BTW: This issue existed on the older cars in the form of a surge you sometimes got when taking your foot off the gas suddenly. The correction to this surge resulted in the cough and pop. PIM me directly or reply here if you want more information.
  2. I have a spare set wheels and tires from my 450. You can have for shipping. PM me. bob
  3. I have a new set of 50mm spacers that should fit excellent and bring the tires right to the inside lip of the widestars on my Brabus. The can be had at half cost if you want to try them. Bob
  4. The November 14, 2009 Smart Slalom and driving school is canceled due to lack of participants Sorry folks I cannot hold the event with less than 20 participants If you want to hold a spring event please start a new event list of who would like to participate and if you prefer USA or Canada location? And someone will have to be the front negotiator as I am working toward doing the Targa Western Canada and will not have time to be the primary for this event. Anyone else want to do the Targa? Have a good winter and sorry we could not put this together. SmartieUSA
  5. Updated information: More prizes. Last date for sign-up and sending me your deposit is October 23rd so we can reserve the track. Don't miss out on this great event. Smart Slalom event and Driving School – Pitt Meadows Gathering November 14 (Saturday) Show and Shine, BBQ and Driving Instruction with a timed lap competition at the end for those who want to evaluate their skills. Prizes and awards. This event will be a substitute for our track day so plan on having some fun and see how your driving stacks up after some good instruction. 11. Well after checking around it seems we may be able to do a Slalom in BC some time in September.I will add anew topic for this event after we work out some details. And as for get together how would the group feel about joining us for a drive near Issaquah, WAon Saturday the 15th? I am thinking we could do a run through the backroads and end with a great late lunchnear Mt Vernon or on the islands. (I am still looking into details)So how many folks are interested in in a fun get together meeting in Issaquah on Saturday the 15th?Cheers,Bob
  12. I am looking into who is interested and will post something with details tomorrow orSaturday AM.Thank you all for your patience
  13. Things will come together for a similar event and it will probably be a Slalom timed event with some good prizes and such. For now the drive looks to be a Poker run and looks like we will all have a good time. Look for a new posting titled Smart drive and Poker run shortly. Bob
  14. TRACK PORTION OF EVENT CANCELLED With only 10 people we cannot hold the event this year. =====New Discussion Plans======= Sunday brunch and Pie Run I still have a reservation in Mission for Sunday and Monday and would love to get together. So the thought is to meet at the Hotel on Sunday for Brunch, make the pie run out to the airport, Then do a nice coastal drive and get together for a nice dinner if you do not need to head home. Or we can do the event in Seattle area with a nice drive to Ellensburg along the back roads. I found that the majority of the Paid entrants are in Washington so I amalso interested in seeing if we would like to have a local event of it. Would any Canadians be interested in coming down for some fun in Seattle area? I will of course return the few deposits received or any on the way. Or better yet return it to you in person on Sunday So let me know your thoughts and we can move forward. SmartieUSA
  15. FINAL CHANCE Tomorrow is the day of decision and the current statistics look grim. If the 20 people who put themselves on the list confirm today we can make it happen. We currently only have 10 confirmed people for the school. This would be a cost of over $600 each and at that rate we must cancel I MUST HEAR FROM ALL OF THE NO RESPONSE GROUP BY 11:00 AM PDT: And this still leaves the cost at $350 each. 14. Micromachine (Todd) 15. Snow_Dogs (Deb) 16. PAS-LTD (Jerdiss) 17. ChineseRider (Stanley) 18. redsmartbrabus 19. SmartBrabus09 =====My plans======= I still have a reservation in Mission for Sunday and Monday and would love to get together with a group and just do a drive if you would like to join me?????? So if you are interested please PM me and we can have some fun. So who would like to do Sunday and maybe Monday at Mission and a nice drive? Anyone know a good place for lunch on Sunday in Mission? So unless everyone shown below as confirmed wants to overrule me I think we will have to cancel The cost would be about CDN $650.00 each and I am up for it if you are. Decision time is 11:00 AM Wednesday. I will of course return the few deposits received or any on the way. Or better yet return it to you in person on Sunday at mission. And thank you to those few who confirmed and sent in your deposit. 01. SmartieUSA (Bob) - Paid 02. SmartieUSA (Arlie) - Paid 03. BigCritter (Marty) - Paid 04. Bilgladstone - Paid 05.
