  1. My 2 cents for what it's worth...If you keep the Porsche you'll regret selling the smart. If you keep the smart you'll regret selling the Porsche. Flip a coin or keep both. Either way you still have a mortgage to pay and if your mortgage was paid off who knows what you 'might' do with the $$$. Besides if you "God forbid" died tomorrow it wouldn't matter either way now would it? Do what makes you happy and don't worry about the decision you made because too many times people think back and regret the decisions they may have made in the past... "One of the most wasted things a person can do is to worry or regret a past decision...""Desiderata" (Latin for "desired things", plural of desideratum) is an inspirational prose poem about attaining happiness in life. It was first copyrighted in 1927 by Max Ehrmann. Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let not this blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams; it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy. --- Max Ehrmann, 1927
  2. This product looks promising but just as the 450 interior and the 451 interior is different so will be the cruise control stalks so it will be a matter of taste and cross compatibility as to it's usefulness to both models.
  3. Vicki compares the new electric powered Smart ED to it’s gasoline powered counterpart, the Smart FourTwo. http://www.finalgear.com/shows/fifthgear/13/7/ This is a site to direct you to down loadable torrent files for Top Gear and Fifth Gear shows ONLY.
  4. Depending on the price and build quality it could be a viable alternative based upon the purchasers desires.
  5. Patience is a virtue... but I feel your pain... I suppose you could sign up on the orphan list no?
  6. They look very nice I'm surprised that you have any left. BTW email sent.
  7. Just goes to show that America is as secure as a wiffle ball not curving. Perhaps a Homeland Security would be the job to have if you really REALLY wanted job security "pun intended".
  8. I as well have alot of interest in an excellent quality cruise control for my smart but I'll need to get the smart first.

  10. Just a potential idea.NAsR: North America smart RallySince smart is coming to the USA I have been kicking around the idea of having a rally of smart owners. Where we could all meet and check out the latest modifications and just general camaraderie. We could have things like a smart cruise, smart show-n-shine with trophies, cookout, dinner, games and other ideas over a 2 or 3 day period. We could have raffles for a worthwhile charity and raise monies for CsC to become more of a presence to parts suppliers. If the rallies were to become big enuff get some vendor sponsorship in coming offering wares and perhaps even smart to come and supply next generation demos, demo rides for people who may come by or smart owners to get an opportunity to demo a next-gen smart. I have a lot of ideas so if you think this would have a possibility of becoming a reality post you opinion here and perhaps we could get a group of planners to come up with something for 2008 or 2009.Not to exclude any of our other smart brethren across the water perhaps it should be named something to encompass ALL smart owners worldwide? What do you think?
  11. As of this post there are including me 5 people who have volunteered and awaiting 1 more to reply. If the preplanning goes well then the group can formalize the event and while many may be thinking big it really will depend upon the number of "FIRM" commitments of attendees as to how involved this NAsR would become. I would like to see a small-medium sized event but untill other things can be fleshed out and then promoted then we will have a better idea of where to go from there. Bill you would be a welcome addition should you choose to volunteer
  12. I have submitted a request for more volunteers at: Smartcar of America website. Just so you all know that this idea is still in the pre-planning stage. I think if we get a few more volunteers that we will be ready to start the rally pre-planning. Just have to wait and see. Currently here at CsC we have 2 volunteers and 1 potential that I'm waiting a reply.
  13. FINAL REQUEST Waiting for at least 3 more people to volunteer for the planning committee to get this project off the ground. Will wait until Mar 01, 2008 for volunteers otherwise I suppose any organized events will be localized events planned by local individuals. I could possibly do this on my own but would like at least two Canadian representatives and one more USA representatives to support the majority of smart drivers in North America.
  14. I have no idea if this is true or not but the interesting thing that I got from it was the window sticker and VIN number but anyway I thought everyone would be interested in looking at this if indeed it is true, which I believe it is. eBay LINK and here is the window sticker
  15. I just received my email to confirm my smart reservation and select my options that I would like on my smart. My reservation date is in my signature.
  16. It is iimpossible to make every single person happy.
  17. Shouting by people should be handled by Moderators and CsC Admin personnel why penalized everyone?
  18. Waiting for at least 3 more people to volunteer for the planning committee to get this project off the ground. Will wait until Jan 01, 2008 for volunteers otherwise I suppose any organized events will be localized events planned by local individuals. I could possibly do this on my own but would like at least two Canadian representatives and one more USA representatives to support the majority of smart drivers in North America.I will update this thread as necessary.
  19. Looks like there are many people who would support this idea. I think that the next logical step would be to create a planning committee of say 3-5 people to preplan date, location and duration of NAsR. I'll volunteer myself and should anyone else wish to volunteer then feel free to do so. There would be several things to discuss and plan so as decisions are made they will be published here in this thread or another thread more appropriately titled. Once we have the planning committee established we can say that a NAsR is a sure thing and will happen.
  20. Looking at the AFTER photos I think that mud guards would be in order to keep the debris from coming up the side of the car and help to keep the engine intake port cleaner. You would also have similar results driving in water also,
  21. I have both videos on my FTP Server available for download and viewing. They are in both .flv and .wmv file extensions. To view .flv files download and install the FREE player VLC media player at http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ To view .wmv you can use Microsoft media player. To convert files from one extension to another I use the FREE SUPER © at http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html The files that I have downloaded at my Server are called the following: smart in production.flv and smartville.flv and smart in production.flv.WMV and smartville.flv.WMV If you use a web browser the link in my signature may or may not work correctly a better way would be to use an FTP program specifically to connect to FTP Servers. I have a known compatible FTP program called WS FTP, this is the free version that I know is completely compatible with my and all other FTP Servers, you can download it HERE. Any questions, problems don't hesitate to ask.
  22. Here is a question that I posed to smartUSA that they didn't or couldn't answer and since people have been now getting the 08 smarts perhaps they could shed some light on the subject or someone else on the forum may have the answer. Can you tell me exactly how the 08 alarm system works?
  23. Thank You.
  24. If there is nothing anything like this available I'd like to start this helpful list in order to help other CsC members. Question: How to participate in the "smart Emergency Road Service" (sERS) volunteer list. Answer: Even when you have a cell phone and Emergency Road Side Service, ever worry about breaking down far from home when traveling in your smart? Thanks to CsC member Wayne Emery (that's me), we have the "sERS Emergency Road Service" list (sERS). This is a list of CsC members who have volunteered to assist other members if they were to have a breakdown in the volunteer's geographic area. The volunteers may offer a truck, trailer, tools, place to stay temporarily in an emergency, or maybe just some transportation and a friendly face when you need one. To participate in the sERS list, you must be a CsC member. Only those willing to provide their own contact information and are willing to assist others in an emergency can access the sERS list. The sERS list contains CsC member name, real name, geographical area and private contact information (telephone numbers) and should not be shared or distributed other than through the primary CsC member Razorback. Please respect the privacy of others and adhere to this policy. Send information to me Razorback at: razorback@adelphia.net or by PM in my forum profile. If this idea becomes a reality I will post the availability of the list in this thread. This idea is for CsC members who want to help. This is a SAMPLE layout of what this list will look like: CsC member: Razorback (Wayne Emery) Geographical Area: Hampton, VA USA Home Phone: (xxx) xxx-xxxx Cell Phone: (xxx) xxx-xxxx Other Info: Have truck, trailer, some tools and a hot meal available. Can drive as far as 100 miles to help you. Is their interest in getting this idea off the ground and DO YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE?
