  1. Thanks for the reply all! The car went back at the dealer today....... Got the 3 horizontal bars again.... for the 4th time. I have a scary feeling that they will never figure this one out. I asked them to set the temp scale to ?C while they were at it. Luc
  2. Darn-it I thought it would have been a simple key fob/turnsignal whatever combination... Thanks for the info
  3. Hello all! My car has been acting up with the 3 horizontal lines and skiped gears lately. I've been to the dealer 3 time in the past month, and now with the 2nd speed sensor changed on the gearbox, they think the problem is fixed?? Any how, they reflashed the computer, but at the same time, enabled the outside temp display. I did not have this before, as I have a pure. This is a nice feature, only problem, is that it's showing in ?F. I would rather have it in ?C. I looked around a little, and didn't find a way to change this, Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Luc Edit: typos
  4. I noticed this the same day I got my car... a year ago. The solution is quite simple. When you get to the creeping point, or the point where you need to do a quick brake pedal job (as in paralel parking), you just need to pull you hand brake to the first clik (when your light turns on) and it will de-activate the hill-holder function. If I remember well, the car also starts beeping if you're in gear and move while the hand brake is on. It wants to remind you to do something about it... Hope this helps, Luc
  5. A nice compromise that I did (as did others), and is very cheap BTW, is to do the euro turnsignal conversion, disable the DRL, bring power from the side markers to the old turnsigs and put a white 2357 bulb in this old location. You now have a very visible car in the day (front and rear), and save on the lowbeam run time. Works great for me, you just make a habbit of turning the light on to the first click when getting in. Luc
  6. I got the 125W, model 9.1. I'm wondering if the model9.0 (round one) would have been better, but I'm not sure. this rectangular one ended up fiiting tight but OK. As for the charger I got it on sale for 12$ I think, a while back. luc
  7. Might be interesting, but I wonder what kind of CCA (cold cranking amps) it's able to put out? Considering the rather small gage of wire going to the cigarette lighter. I think that at best, it would "boost" the capacity of your battery, but I wouldn't count on it starting the car at -25 with a dead battery
  8. That's the one I also got. I installed it this october, seem to work just fine. Paid around 75$ last winter. I ordered it from Padheaters in Toronto http://padheaters.com/ I also got something installed that works wonders for me. It's a 1A battery charger from CT. I cut off the aligator clips and put on some terminals. I then fixed the terminals directly to the battery bolts. Applied some velcro to the charger (i'ts a rectangular DC transfo size) and fixed that on the carpet so it doesn't bounce around. It runs about 3 hours every night that I plugg it in. The battery is fresh and ready to go every morning (the slow charge also brings it up to a more normal operating temperature, and thus is closer to it's peak efficiency). The engine cranks much faster, and also starts that much faster.
  9. The bulb doesn't twist or rotate, it just pulls right out, after you have unplugged it and detached the spring clip. The spring clip is difficult to explain, once you have taken the front off 1 time you will understand and will not need to take it off in the future for lights. If you still want to go at it, it might comfort you that this spring clip will not fall out of the light base (ie, you can't loose it, it oivots on one side).Good luck, Luc
  10. I just read yesterday on the Quebec forum that Charles had been using Reflexes since last winter, and he seems to like them
  11. I do not think this could happen because of the heater. I used my 120V heater all winter last year (cold Quebec winters) and never had such a trouble. Without being sure, I would think there is a resistance value that the computer is waiting for (thermocouple or the like) and the best place to put it would be near the glow plug itself. It might even be integrated in the glow plug. Luc
  12. Are you serious??? The only way I would put my child in the back would be in case of an emergency, where she absolutely needed to go there... Call me chicken shit but it just gives me goose bumps. Luc
  13. I installed the stick-on pan heater last week (haven't tried it yet) and also bought the 1 amp charger from CT. It will be plugged in the passenger footwell 120V plug and the aligator clips will be on the battery under the carpet. I plan on setting a timer for heating the pan and trickle charge around 2-3 hours before take-off. I didn't have any troubles with the battery last winter, but but this slow charge will have a cheer-up effect on the battery to make it that much more efficient in cold weather starts. Luc
  14. So what about the Brabus package? I don't have the figures handy, but doesn't it exceed this torque rating?? Luc
