I re-entered all my Peugeot data manually, but it was in a black notebook, not an excel file...

We'll be dropping our German friends off in Nanaimo Airport at 11 AM and then driving home, getting the smart and coming in. So we should be able to get to Mile Zero by 1 PM. FWIW.

I would say the best advice is to do a one hour+ test drive. Some love the passenger seat, e.g.: me (190 cm) and my wife (170 cm), both of whom have chronic back problems, and others think the passenger seat is the worst thing ever. The only way to tell is to ride in the car for a long time.
I drve my car home in a snowstorm on summer tires and it was just fine. I would of course recommend winter tires in Montr?al. On Vancouver Island it so rarely snows that these tires would be a waste of $$$.
Heated seats: YES!
Air Conditioning: YES!
softouch: yes - great for city driving at low speeds
Acceleration: if the car had a "normal" gearbox, the 0-100 time would be about 15 s from the way it feels. The torque is huge for a little car, just no power. The gearbox is relaxed in its shifting, so speed freaks will be disappointed. It is fine.

I topped up the 405 DL yesterday and it got 6.4 L/100 km, close to the best ever for the car! It has 335,000 km...

So we'll do the official send-off (kick-off? - remember |Eddie|Eddie|Eddie|) after 5 pm at Mile Zero. Dip the car in the Strait of Juan de Fuca? Get a jar of ocean water? Clover Point sewage?
There will still apparently be some kind of a get together opportunity between roughly noon and two, before the event, so we could arrive in a group anyway....
I think we should stop at Duncan, home of Canada's most enlightened parking regulations, for a photo op. Whether we want any of the councillors or mayor to drop by at say 6:30 PM for the occasion or not, let me know. I could probably rustle some up. We also should see if Anne (smArtist) can be there, since she and her husband take the credit for initiating this parking policy.
Other ideas?

It has now been confirmed from Mercedes-Benz Canada (thanks to SilverSpur of MBCanada) that the 2006 smart and B-Class are being held in Halifax pending some new model year paperwork. Expected release date is early September...

Three Point Motors advised me today that they have three new pure cabriolets available for immediate delivery. One is all black; I can't remember the others...

A fair number of people have bought spare panels - I've seen numeric blue in Vancovuer, and there are at least two pink cars on the west coast. My dealer quotes about $1250 for white/black etc (no labour included) and more for metallic and the most for cubic (e.g. scratch black etc). I haven't tried to order any and I have heard that the cubic colours are no longer available.I have been lusting after ruby red metallic recently....

Is that when you're over in France Mike?
