  1. 460 miles at 41 MPG. 65 to 72 MPH. Not too shabby for fresh motor. Now just over 1000 miles.

  2. Took my first road-trip in the smart. Went on a whirlwind tour to see my sister in Delaware and came home in same day. Boy is my smart tired. As am I!

  3. Is your Mustang a convertible? Can't tell from the picture.

  4. Yeah, I've noticed that too...Any recommendations on brands? I assume I can use the stock rims that came with the Car? I have the passion 2008 alloys..This is what came with the car:155/60R15 on 4.5Jx15 (front),175/55R15 on 5.5Jx15 (rear)
  5. Any changes in o-60 times? What about miles per gallon? What would be REALLY COOL if you could do a little video on it revving up so we can get an idea of the sound, before we buy it. I am interested in it myself, but I have concerns too.
  6. Any idea on how to ship those to NY?
  7. By adding the larger tires, did you notice any improvements in handling? Do they rub the fenders? Thanks,Nancy
  8. Hi,I read some topics about a few of you putting wider tires on your Smart. I have a 2008 Fortwo Passion(see below) and after 1300 miles in one month, I want to modify a few things already. Since I am a Mustang person, and know zip about the Fortwo, can any of you give me advice on putting wider front tires on it?I had seen a car on Ebay a few weeks ago, that someone had put the rear rims also on the front of the car, which is fine, it will also help when I rotate the tires. It seems the cheapest solution but I dont' know if it will work. Why? I drive alot on the expressway and i've been caught on very windy days drifting more than I would like. It's not a comfortable feeling when a wind gust pushed me around a bit. I want to have the car handle the corners a little better too, and the skinny fronts seem to be the problem. I would also like splash guards for it, I drive on a long dirt driveway and I kick up alot of stones, I can't find a set made for the car...suggestions?Thanks,nancy
  9. Hi,Haven't been on in a while, been driving our SMart around.... We picked it up barely a month ago, and we have 1300+ miles on it already!!! This is what we've noticed in MPG: (we are NY drivers=heavy right foot, btw)1st two tanks about 36-38mpg (about 600 miles)past 4 tank fulls, steady 40-50mpg....We went on a trip out of state, and we logged 55 MPG@65-70, steady, no traffic, 2 people in car w/luggage!!!!woohoo!!I would say we are in the 45mpg range steady now, city and hwy mixed about 40/60.All minimum 92 octane...couple times we tried 94 also
  10. Only on my second fillup:1st fillup, avg 35mpg - i think that was more our fault, we were playing with rpms and wasn't sure miles car had when we picked it up from the dealer2nd fillup, 38+mpg, could've also been our fault...BUT, we went on a trip to MA from NY and averaged 55 MPG!!!! NO JOKE!!! I think we're adding this up wrong....we are driving ALOT!note: 2 fillups, almost 700 miles...I think we are definitingfiguring this out wrong, but 3rd tank we'll see how wrong our calculations are. I would guess we are averaging 40+mpg..Get back to you...
  11. The dealer wanted to sell me a warranty by Warrantytech 6yr 100,000 mile warranty bumper/bumper for $2075... I declined...seemed too expensive. I'll check out warranty direct and see what the price is.
  12. I was leaning on buying it..it does seem reasonable.
  13. Hello, I found that the US organization Safercar.gov (NHTSA) just tested the Smart. Thought you'd like to see the results. There's video of both tests on there too. http://www.safercar.gov/portal/site/saferc...s=Passenger+Car this is the home page, if that doesn't come up: http://www.safercar.gov/
  14. Hi,Any advice on the extended warranty? I am supposed to be getting my car this week and I want to have the info before I go sign the papers...Should I opt for the extra warranty now, or should I wait a year and buy it later? I plan on driving my car 12-14,000 miles a year and I was wondering about reliability...Also, the dealer has an extra plan for "TIRE REPLACEMENT PLAN" covering tires(since there is no spare-didn't know that!).. Should I get it?Any advice is appreciated!Nancy
  15. Mine says "already delivered"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Funny, I know they're small, but I don't see it in my driveway yet!
