  1. My smart is gone to London smart Center. A couple of weeks ago I couldn't get it to start when we stopped in Kitchener. After about 1/2 hour, it started, and has been good until Saturday. Saturday it wouldn't start again. Would turn over, but not start. Tried several times over the weekend and today called extended warranty to get it towed to London. I called to let them know it was coming, and got a call this evening that they had a quick look and will diagnose tomorrow. This will be the first major test of the extended warranty. It covered a broken front spring, but I think there may be a fuel pump problem, so I hope it's covered.
  2. Powerfist 12 volt oil extractor on special. No experience with this, I have the hand pump one, but this is a good price. May not be the best solution with battery location. http://www.princessauto.com/en/detail/powerfist-12v-oil-extractor/A-p8576589e?utm_source=bronto&utm_medium=email&utm_term=Image+-+Powerfist+12V+Oil+Extractor&utm_content=Day+1+%E2%80%93+12+Days+Of+Christmas&utm_campaign=2015-113987-01_En&_bta_tid=3.cWc.B7-wTA.GNDz.AkMI4Q..AqHd6A.b..s.AfLs.n...u5dTbA&_bta_c=e1qdwoyuj8agsa9wcrvllz1dpil9v

  4. I put one on our red smart and it was ideal for keeping the rear window clean. Didn't think much of it until I drove my wife's silver smart and saw how quickly the rear window got dirty. I just thought it looked cool, but it had function also.

  12. "Next best trip was Barrie to Quebec City and back. $72.00 in fuel..with wife, and full suitcase in the back, and winter driving."You should let your wife sit up front, much more comfortable.
  13. I've played every day since OP and every time go 4 clicks past. Not 3, not 5 always 4.
  14. Maybe you don't have them out west, but I have done front brakes with pads and rotors from CTC. Not sure of back brake parts. My local store even stocks oil filter now. I had to work with a competent rep to find things, I think they are listed under MB, not smart.
  15. DO NOT BUY KUMHO TIRES. Last year I put a set of Kumho tires on the back of my smart. When I put them back on this spring, I saw they were noticeably worn and went back to my tire guy. He called and the distibutor said the rep wasn't available, but they were covered, run them until the rep is available. By the time we took them off I had 33,000 Km on, 15,000 which was after we contacted them. When the rep finally graced the tires with a viewing, he said no coverage. Apparently the distributor credited us $25 per tire, but nowhere near what it should have been for a tire rated at 50,000 km. I have contacted Kumho on their website regarding the coverage and poor life, but have yet to hear back after an appropriate amount of time and will try phoning this week.
  16. I had Ecsta ASX on. All tires I have had in thte past wore on the inside, these wore on center. May be if other tires wear better, it proves my point that these were a bad batch and the rep should address it.
  17. Just noticed today that the rear corners of the roof are showing signs of the outer coating starting to come undone. Anyone else have this? Should I be worried? Is the roof panel really just pressboard that will "melt" when the coating comes away and it gets wet?
  18. Sounds like the headlight switch isn't turned on, running on daytime running lights.
  19. The seals aren't really meant to be removed from the outside, so you have to destroy them to get them out. You can screw a couple of screws in and pry on the heads or drive a screwdriver into the seal and pry it out. Putting new ones in is just a matter of tapping around the seal to keep it straight to the housing, so it doesn't get jammed crooked.
  20. Hit a stupid raccoon on the way home. Was going by a truck on the 403 and had no where to go. Thanks for stopping Silverwing.
  21. Ish, if you're in London on the weekend, check at Gibralter Flea Market. I have seen them there before.

  23. Wendy Wendy has one, she is great to deal with.
  24. Check your dealer. Since the exhaust houses the catalytic converter, it has a longer warranty under emission system. Not sure of the exact time limits.
  25. I can't answer that. As we have 2 smarts and another vehicle, I left it there for a couple of days, but I would guess 4 hours should cover it.
