  1. WOW.....looks friggin awesome James........but then I would expect nothing less from you...
  2. I am confused as to why anything anyone had to say would reflect on ones own personal preference for a car. If people bought cars based on influence and what the general populace had to say none of us would have bought smart cars .........
  3. Thanks Mike....yes its used....an 05 with only 54,000k on it and the 1.8 l engine.....I am going back to Spritmonitor to keep track of this car to see what it can do.Long ago I had never ever thought Mercedes and had it not been for the smart I may have never ever walked into a dealership. The great service and thoughtful people at Performance Mercedes have proved a winning combination though in keeping me a customer, it just took the smart car initially to get me in the door.
  4. After much deliberation and thought I have traded in my smart...... at 183,000+ kms it was time to let it go while it still held some value, another year from now and another 60,000k would have reduced its value considerably... and of course before it started to cost me more money which I feared could be just around the corner. The single car garage at home which did hold both our smarts will now only be home to Jillian's Stella and I will park in the driveway (depending on who gets home from work first) I need to thank Ryan Heikoop and all the excellent staff at Performance Mercedes in St. Catharines for all their help in making the transition to a different set of wheels. I initially had been hoping to move up to B class but Ryan had a car that I just couldnt say no to and would not break me as far as fuel economy goes. So my new ride is a C230 Kompressor....it has more power when I require it, is extremely comfortable seeing as how I spend 3 hours a day in the car .....and we still a smart at home so that we can continue to see all the friends we have made through smart ownership and attend events.I look forward to seeing Iain now drive his smart to the highest mileage smart in Canada.....
  5. see this HERE...this should help a little....
  6. still on the original brake pads too....forgot about that...but they are getting changed next go round...
  7. As of April 8th I will have had the car for three years. 2005 smart pulse…..fuel consumption average after 3 years...... 3.75 l/100 kms give or take Total kilometres 179,380 Number of services in this period 17 (9 “A” and 8 “B”) Previous truck 1997 Ford F-150 pickup…..fuel consumption average.... 12.81 l/100 kms Savings with smart per 100 kms...... 9.06 l/100 kms or roughly 16,252 unused litres of fuel over the last three years Not to shabby........ On the downside in the last year the car has required both a new intercooler and a new turbo, new front ball joints and several intercooler scoops.... other than that still pleased...
  8. Still on my original EGR valve.....
  9. I have to date now lost the original scoop and two awesome oil container bodges that I made up, the third one is now currently destroyed and dangling below the car....I now have a MB original replacement that I am going to put on when the weather is suitable.....
  10. I dont doubt it either Mike...I am actually suprised that Duck has not passed me yet...
  11. 178,000 currently and I think still ahead of Duck although not by much.....
  12. I gave you 5 pretty yellow stars.

  13. It was a bit of snow squalls here today which slowed the traffic down just enough to not go fast and not be stopped....a nice crisp 60 km/hr drive home on the highway........ first blob dropped out at 206 kms and when i got home the scangauge gave me a 2.8 l/100kms for the drive home with a tank average of 3.3 l/100kms
