  1. If you don't use EV's regularly, you might as well buy a boat anchor and be done with it.
  2. Kindness is loaning someone your strength instead of reminding them of their weakness ~ Leadwing
  3. What samandbetty were saying in their post ( above ) is as follows We're new. My wife and I own a 2006 diesel four2 passion. Has almost 80,000 km. Car has a serious oil leek. Have pulled intercooler, like new, clean inside and outside. No damage, no leaks. Checked turbo, slight oil on housing. If turbo is leaking there should be oil in hoses and intercooler, both clean. Oil leak is center of car near oil pan. Checked most obvious places can't seem to find leak. BTW, As Betty turned into driveway car left an oil streak about 15 ft long. Must be accumulation somewhere. Can anyone help. To address the "streak" of oil, check your oil level to make sure it hasn't been over-filled. The diesel smart takes 2.7 liters of oil when drained. NO MORE
  4. The small type issue was addressed in the other post by samandbetty
  5. Welcome to the club! .......... One suggestion to make your posts more readable ....... Make sure that you don't accidentally click on the "Source" button at the top of the area where you compose your posts. It makes things so small, it is almost impossible to read. Again,
  6. You could try PMing Willys. He is in the Peferlaw area and might have access to something that could help. He seems to be capable of most repairs. It can't hurt to give him a try.

Hi Mia and to the club. Although we have members on every continent in the world, we are primarily based in Canada. Wild! suggested checking with sites located locally (for you) which I think will be more productive in your search for a good mechanic in your area. Of course you are more than welcome to drop in and visit with everyone here. Again, Welcome.
  9. That's odd. Usually, when the countdown is showing one 'blob' and then that disappears, a countdown should start, showing 5.0 L then 4.5, then 4.0 and so on down to zero. I am NOT a mechanic so I can't answer your question, but the countdown should be there. Perhaps our Guru's on this site can help. According to the Operator's manual, the fuel tank is 22 liters of which 5 liters is reserve, so in theory, the countdown 'should' start with 17 liters used up.
  10. Happy Birthday "Uncle Glenn" ! Always young at heart

  12. Not only interested, but will be there with bells on!
  13. This response is courtesy of Looselugnuts ............... "rockauto new alternator for 2006 cdi $185 plus tax and shipping (no core charge)...."
  14. I have a battery maintainer on a timer (It's on about 5 hours every night). This maintainer looks after my winter beater during the summer months and the Cabrio over the winter. The Cabrio is an '06 and still has the original battery in it. I connected two wires directly to the battery and have a matching plug on the maintainer.
  15. Buying a 15 year old car is a crap-shoot. You could end up with nothing but a money pit where you spend all your spare cash into it OR, you could end up with a perfectly good vehicle with years of trouble-free driving. A lot depends on how it was treated before you get it. Is it a Pure, Pulse or Passion? Coupe or Cabrio? Willys made several good points about checking for codes and other potential problem areas. I am suggesting that you are going at it correctly by asking question BEFORE buying. I wish you good luck and hope that if you buy this car, it is good to you.
  16. I had a fellow racer friend from Quebec who built one almost identical to the one in the photos above. He drove that thing everywhere and had no issues getting it registered. If I recall correctly, he also used the Honda CX650 engine.
  17. The new Mini is bigger than my '89 Honda Civic.
  18. It is normal for it to flash once when unlocking and three times when locking. I am speaking from experience with 450's, but I'm presuming that it would be the same for the 451's.
  19. The smart is my 4-wheeled motorcycle. It's drier and warmer I still have my '75 Honda Goldwing although it's resting at this time. Hopes are high to get it back on the road this summer.
  20. It's a warning that the battery on your key fob is getting low. Replace it and all should be good.
  21. Welcome to the club! Before the Covid crap, we, as a southern Ontario-based chapter of the club, would do monthly meetings on Tuesday evenings. In our travels, we liked to visit Sarnia and our restaurant of choice was usually The Wharf.
  22. Give Uncle Glenn a call. He may still have a replacement steering wheel with paddles.
  23. I have a shorter one. It works well in the Cabrio when the roof is down. It's a little too high when the roof is up, but that is what the original stalk is for It's an easy swap from one to the other.
  24. Reach for the moon...even if you miss, you'll still be among the stars.
  25. About three weeks ago, I had an "A" service done on the Cab. As always, the service was done with quality and care, in a timely fashion and yet another satisfied customer leaves the Uncle Glenn shop.
