  2. **SOLD** (within 2 hours) Have a broken body panel? Get a full set of black body panels for less than the cost of one fender. I sold my smart car a while ago but I still have a set of black body panels for the 450 coupe (2006). The panels comes with a new set of hardware for installation and the original protective storage bags. Asking $250 or best offer. I'm located in Southern New Brunswick. PM for details. I have pictures that I will post later. ARTZ
  3. I'm looking to sell off my smart car, it ran great for 8 years driving back and forth from Saint John to Fredericton, NB but it needs a new starter. I don't have the time to change it and I have not been driving it lately as we have a baby at home now and the smart car and babies don't mix. The car was originally black on black, but I purchased a set of the European stream green panels (with European marker lights) so it can be either green on black or black on black or combination of the two or you can have both set of panels. It also has the original X-gauge computer which can no longer be purchased. Welte-Engineering Also a second set of winter rims with new tires ran 1 season plus two additional rear summer (unmounted) The car still runs as I can do a rolling start to get the car started and everything else is fine, the AC is still working and all servicing has been done.
  4. How about the water leaking possibility that was mention in the first post? Is that a concern?
  5. 42Kruizer had one for his car (until he sold his car). I thought it was well made and it fit his car quite nicely.
  6. Need an account to view the image.
  7. Actually I think I just figured out the correct answer, it must be the roof frame since all soft-top cabrios cannot support the cars weight but the frame/roll bars do.
  8. Is it the strength of the roof or the strength of the roof frame? I realize this is American, but the the original 450 coupe with a glass roof cannot support any weight.
  9. Always buy your diesel from a place that gets lots of business; this way they are always getting fresh diesel and you know it hasn't sat around for a while. Why would diesel gum up now? It is still summer; at least in the Atlantic.
  10. Mike_T, why did you mention the windshield replaced? What problems arise from there? Water leaks?
  11. 20,000 kms???? Duck does that in one month.
  12. Try here www.smartMadness.com. This guy just started posting on our website; he is based in California but has a larger selection than the dealer would have. Some cost more than others, based on the quality of material. smartieParts.com has one indoor one in stock.
  13. Well that is good. This morning when I read this earlier this morning I was going to ask you about your air filter because I was thinking something about the air flow to the engine, but I wouldn't have thought about it not being fully closed.
  14. This is from the Museum of Communications in Frankfurt, Germany.
  15. I noticed the other day, that when you click on a members name on the left side of a topic you can send PM, Add as Friend and other things. However, if you select "Find Member's Posts" or "Find Member's Topic" you get an error about "Search Flood Control" and you should try again in 3 seconds. However, you get the same error.
  16. And I knew that was what it was for but why does it always happen every time you use those find all posts by a particular member? Another forum that I visit they only allow one search per minute. That is quite annoying but I know why they do it. If they change the value to 15 or 30 seconds it would be much better. I find when I'm trying to do a second search I keep on pressing the "F5" key (refresh) ever second just because I have nothing else I can do for that minute. Each of these refreshes is hitting the web server (not the database server) which are additional request that the server has to deal with.
  17. Chances are that the plastic holder will break again anyway, so the advice from Evilutions website seems quite logical. I would recommend using stainless steel button head screws so it gives a nice finish.
  18. I think the reason for it is so that people don't come on and keep posting to those words games (that were quite active before) and their number of posts are greatly increased, even though they didn't contribute any smart, environmental, etc.. information to the forums.Other forums have ranking systems and people are given credit towards valid/concrete information; but that is a lot of work to administrate.PS: I just posted in the Community Chatter as well and before I posted I looked at my post count and it did NOT change, so that is exactly what is going on.
  19. Do you think they have any ringing in their ears?Do you think those cords are made out of 100% wool?
  20. They were originally the Canadian turn signal locations; however many Canadian owners move their turn signals back to the original Euro location with in the head light clusters (amber lights in the photo you posted). After rewiring the lights to the Euro location some owners turn the lights in the grill to act like day time running lights. Try turning on your head lights and then pressing the "Dash Dimming" switch that is located below the draw in the middle of the dash. (it is the switch to the left of the light). Some people will wire these lights to that switch, because that is the easiest thing to do.
  21. Another idea, if ever morning you say the battery is dead, then what you should do is take the car out for spin and charge up the battery and then when you return home for the night, disconnect the battery. In the morning, hook the battery back up and give it a try. If it starts without any issues then you know you have something draining the battery. Have you done any electrical modifications to your car that may void your warranty? NOTE: This is my UNprofessional opinion; I have minor knowledge of a cars electrical systems; so take the advice how ever you want.
  22. I don't think it is your battery (well your battery probably needs replacing now) but I think you have either a charging problem or something is draining your battery. How old is your car? 450 or 451? I have had my car for 4 years and my battery has never given me a problem yet. If it is still under warranty then the dealer should go over the electrical components of the car to determine where the power loss is coming from.
