About Susie2555

  1. So do they make a "manual" Smart, I mean one that has a clutch or are they all automatics? They are to be here in Wisconsin in a couple of weeks, I can hardly wait!
  2. I got an email back from Bergstrom in Madison. He said they will sell for whatever MSRP is. And they won't be getting them until January of next year!!!!
  3. Yeah!!! Smarts in Madison. We shall see how much Bergstrom marks them up. Being the yuppie town that it is they should sell a lot in Madison. It will be interesting tho as Bergstom being the Mercedes, Cadillac, Hummer dealership deals with all the as they perceive it "lower class" citizen coming into their showroom. They are very snobbish over there.
  4. And- if you are not real good with working with metal to make a cage/cover, there is PVC piping. Easy to cut, just glue together, has couplings and elbows. But it would be better to leave uncover than to have ANYTHING touching it.
  5. I agree on the no cover. I had my collector car outside with a cover on. BIG MISTAKE, not only did it trap moisture with the wind it rubbed so hard it took off the clear coat and paint. So I had to repaint the hood.
  6. The new litle car just is sooooo cute. When the car finally gets here and they do sell for $11,000.00 I think they will sell like hotcakes. They seem to be roomy enough,,and hey if there is just one of us in the car gee how much room do we need. And all those people say gee you are gonna get killed in that thing, well you can be killed in most any car. I can hardly wait!!!
  7. Always called it POP, whenI went to Louisiana I though it funny they called them "cold drinks". A fountain is something pretty in a park with water coming out. What you drink from is a "bubbler". I think it is pretty much a Wisconsin thing with the bubbler!
  8. The Rabbits are here, in Madison, WI anyway. They sold 3 in 2 days and had 2 left. Both 4 drs. one black and one (YUCK) the sage green, I was hoping for the dark green color. I was not impressed and what they are asking is kind of high I think,,,oh well, maybe I will just have to hold onto the jetta and wait for the SMART! And why are they not selling diesels? Its not as if there aren't any one the road and if you have ever had diesels(I had 2 ) they are not that much different and they get much better mileage. Maybe its too hard to train the workers on how to fix them!
  9. in the first quarter of 2008!!!!!!! I just got an e mail from Mercedes stating when it is to get here. What is with these companies waiting so long to get it here!!! That is another 1 1/2 years. And Volkswagen just announced the Rabbit is coming back and will be for sale this year, I'm in the market for a new small car, sorry smart, you are a day late and a dollar short. This is just like back in the 70's, the foreign car companies were the first to offer small cars, it took the big 3 - 4 yrs to get their act together and lost a lot of business. This is the same thing, VW is here and will have to buy that no matter how much I wanted a smart.
  10. Has anyone in Canada heard any news about when and if this cute little car will come to the U.S.? I do love how the car mfg. says that we in the US would not buy this car. what does he know for petes sake, they think everyone wants one of those big lumbering trucks and SUV's. He is so wrong, a lot of us do not need a big car, for the past 30 years all I have owned are VW's, from rabbits to jettas. I would love one of these cute little cars. a question too, do they only make them with power windows and door locks? I much prefer manual, as if they do break I can fix.
