Hi all, End of tether. Engine light come on and the car goes into gutless mode. Mercedes had the car for over a month and they have changed throttle sensor/ exhaust sensor/ air and fuel flow and the parameters. Check for turbo leakage. After coghing up for the above they want me to pay for a new turbo on the chance its a sticky actuator.. My 4th and probably my last Smart based on Mercedes service. Say they took it for a test drive but the tracker says otherwise.. I say again, I can reset the fault electronically and its fine for a few weeks as is cures itself sometimes too. Also she hops between eco and sport mode on her own and wait for me to paddle shift up the gears somtimes.. what the hell🤧🤧🤧🤧😪. And help appreciated.

Hello all, I am new to the group and hope I have posted in the right area. I currently have 2 Smart cars. I currently have a 2006 Cdi and recently purchased a 2005 Cdi. I do not know a whole bunch of history on the car, but it will not exceed 3000rpm. There is currently no light on and no codes stored. I have pulled the EGR valve which is clean, then switched my solenoid from my 2006 CDI. Still no change in power. I had then switched clutch actuators between cars, still no difference. I can hear the fuel pump when i turn the key. I pulled the rear bumper and functioned the waste gate and inspected the lines and all looks good. Upon further inspection, I realized my exhaust manifold was once welded but has cracked again. I put my ScanGauge on and it makes roughly 3lb of boost. I realize I will have to replace the exhaust manifold, could this be the issue? Would anyone else have any ideas to check as well.

So today at the Midwest rally, we drove up a pretty steep hill, and when I started gunning it, I went into limp mode. No check engine light, nothing coming up on the Scangauge. No indications of the issue existing, beyond not being able to go over 3000 RPM, and terrible performance. Interestingly, the same issue had occured when I was driving up the Cherohala Skyway at Outsmarting the Dragon last year. This is all in my 2006 CDI cabrio. As I said before, the CEL wasn't lit up, just "unexplained" limp mode. When I got back to the hotel, I plugged in the Star machine, and got the following fault: P2102 - Reversible fuel safety cutoff: Implausible value in the run-on time I had 3 out of 5 blobs of fuel in the tank, so it's not like I ran the car dry or anything. As I said, it was going up a steep hill though. Anyone have any thoughts on this one? It feels like some faulty sensor to me (because of the "implausible value"), but any input would be appreciated.
