I have a sirius radio that I want to mount in my 05 cabrio. I have this and want to mount it in roughly this are. I figured that I could drill 3 holes through the dash, the mount base and a piece of acrylic I heat form to the dash and bolt it all together. Does anybody think this would be an issue? Does anybody have other mounting locations that will keep it tidy, secure and close to the radio? No heat vents are not an option. Lonnie

Hello, I've got a 2005 450. I'd like to find a durable solution for mounting a smartphone. I know others want the same. I use a RAM brand mount in my work truck and it's fantastic. http://www.rammount.com/ The RAM smartphone mount is here: http://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-HOL-UN7BU The double socket extension is here: http://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-B-201U-C There are so many mounting options and so I wanted to put this idea out here and see what you all came up with. One idea I like is to use the accessory tree and use an extension to reach out from there. Another would be to use adhesive or screws to mount to the dash. What is the threading for the screws of the accessory tree? RAM has ball mounts with threads: http://www.rammount.com/part/RAP-B-379U-M616 http://www.rammount.com/part/RAP-B-379U-372437 Those that can be screwed into the floor or dash: http://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-B-202U Those for adhesion: http://www.rammount.com/part/RAP-B-378U They also have windshield mounts but I feel the windshield is just too far away to be practical in this application. Any ideas are welcome!
