rimjob?

61 posts in this topic

o.k., one of my beefs with the smart is the 3 lug wheels, which mean our choices for personalizing our cars are narrowed down to a half dozen styles, whereas if they were regular rims, we could choose ANY wheel we wanted, and make our cars really unique from one another, SOOOOO..... if you could have any rims on your car at all, what would you like? perhaps the photoshop gang could even put em on for ya, if you ask nicely...like these...

doe anyone make an adaptor plate at all to convert 3 stud too 4 perhaps? The fact that the smart uses bolts would make an adaptor plate all the more feasable???? :dunno: No lugs sticking in the way?what kind of geometry issuse would this create or have i stumbled onto something here?

There are a few vendors that sell adaptors, I know fasteddy is one of them...The mooncaps are available online from California, Bil Gladstone knows where. He'll likely post here.

We've spoken to Mike of www.hubcapmike.com and discovered those shiny moons won't fit the smart rims :(However the racing discs work nicely!HTHBil :sun:

yeah i spoke with him, sent photos of the current rims with the trim ring, he said no way they would fit. the steel discs would look like this, not bad, but those damn mooncaps are my dream whels (p.s. thread title was a little joke to get people to read, and see who's minds are in the gutter !!)...

LOL, Bil, sometimes I think that the weight of all the things you've added to your ride off-sets the advantages you are receiving!

This works: 3 strips 3"x12" Airflow Vortex Generators from Mike Nish http://www.prfprod.com/

Email Mike at mike[at]prfprod.com because the shipping to canada doesn't work properly in his online store.

Tell him Bil the smart car guy in Kelowna sent you!
