Still waiting for a configure email from my May $99.00 reservation. Here is my new story for anyone who cares to read up.Went to my local dealer purely to see what’s sup with the configure emails situation and why haven’t I heard anything.

Is your dealer willing to say what reservation numbers he is delivering? The comment by the CSR that the reservation number isn't relevant is certainly shocking. Seems like there is a hole in the training for CSRs. Or maybe this CSR didn't get as much from the training as she should have. I guess it is technically correct that a car is scheduled for production based on the confirmation date and the assigned dealer. But the reservation date (and the assigned dealer) should determine when a person is invited to confirm an order. Two people with the same reservation number (and dealer) could get scheduled for different production times. If they got confirmation invitations at the same time, but one replied immediately while the other waited until the end of the confirmation window, the cars might get produced and shipped on different dates. But you are still waiting to confirm, and the reservation date plus the dealer is the key to scheduling that process.Hang in there. Hopefully your patience will be rewarded soon.

Thanks Ohio Smart.I appreciate your telling me to be patient and it will pay off. Just frustrating as hell at the moment.The dealer said they have no control over the cars coming in. The smarts are strictly coming in to the dealer and delivery is dictated by smart usa and PAG.Dealer has no say so. The smarts show up they look at the VIN and the VINs are already pre named. There was probably a miniumum 15 to 20 smarts sitting waiting for delivery or pick up. Delivery meaning smart owners need to actually come and pick up their cars. They way Im taking it is this is two ways and its sad but true. If these people (Dealers) sit on the smart orders because people are too F'n lazy to pick up their smarts now that they are at the dealer. It slows down the whole process on how many new orders can be delivered for people like me that are ready today. And if you live in a heavily populated area like I do with 2 dealers locally catering to 6 million population. Chances are there are lot of smart reservation holders within my area of Los Angeles, So Cal area still waiting. So Im not doing good for three reasons.1. I live in the wrong City and State for getting my smart in a reasonable time frame.2. My local dealers lot is too small too accomidate more than 15-20 smarts.3. The people who have reserved and configed are slow as SH*& to come and pick them up when there ready for pick up. Theres no excuse for a smart sitting on the lot for 42 days and counting. That thing should have been gone already. Its holding up the show for somebody else in front of me. Damn!God knows how long the other smarts are still waiting for the owers to come and pick them up etc.

Yes second half of 2008 in the email. So from June to December 31, 2008. My family laughed at me when I read the email because of that second half of 2008 statement.They are like "WHAT? Your joking right?....Just go buy something else. Why are you waiting over a year for a gas saver micro car? Stop pining for your smart. Whats wrong with you".I guess its time to start saving and planning for the extra goodies. Might as well add by info up. I reserved Aug 31st as a 1337. My center is Fairfield, CT I configured 1st of Febuary and the email stated "second half of 08" But I have visited several dealers around my area and even my dealer said that its about 3-4 months from configuration to delivery. That seems overly optimistic, but since their are alot of dealers in a relativley small area, so I am guessing that estimate could be true.
