Here we are again!!

The parade is in Lambeth and it is their Harvestfest parade which has been running for over 30 years. Starts off with a pancake breakfast at the community centre and then a parade at 1000.

We would have to start assembling at my place by 0930 for the parade, or 0800 for the pancake breakfast.

We started this back in 2008 and it has been a blast!!!!! It's expected to throw candy to the children and it's well worth it to see the smiles on their faces. pictures from 2008 (scroll down 1/2 way)

After the parade you're invited to spend the afternoon at my place where I will fire up the barbie and cook up something to keep us going. Will also have some home made beer to sample....

We just wanted to let everyone know that the theme for the Harvest Fest Parade is "Mardi Gras" There are beads, masks etc at the dollar store if you'd like to theme it up. Liz and I are looking forward to roasting up some beef and enjoying everyones company after the parade. If you'd like to let Liz know what you would like to contribute to the pot luck, give her a pm at lilbit. Hopefully the weather will cooperate, as it has in the past.

Another fine day was enjoyed by all. Eight cars were in the parade with the Lurker and Cha Cha joining us later. The BBQ was something that would bring me back again and again. Great food (contributions from everyone) and equally great company. Cudos to Liz and Glenn for co-hosting the BBQ. You guys did a wonderful job.I'm sure they are importing kids from all over. It looked like there were more kids there than the entire population of Lambeth. Maybe it was just me I was too busy tossing candy and trying not to run over kids to take pictures of the actual parade, but maybe someone else managed to snap a few.

It was a very enjoyable day, great food and great company.Was fun to drive in the parade and see the children having a lot of fun picking up the candies.Great job Liz and Glenn for hosting us all and btw, Glenn's home made brew was tasing good too .Will try to upload some pictures when I have more time.Nell & John
