Best Way Not To Get Sun Stroke?

10 posts in this topic

 I had my top down for a sunny day on Friday and ended up burning my nose and head! What is the best way to stop this? Scarf, baseball cap, sun hat with wide brims?

Sun screen. Also, don't go topless in the midday sun!

No way man. Topless in the desert sun. The only way to go. ....and soon after this shot we went through a swarm of bees...and me with no shirt. From there it got ugly.....

A hat would need to be tied VERY securely so it doesn't blow off while driving. You could always become a Muslim and wear one of those burkas.

I'm bald, so head covering of some sort is the norm .... That said, my choice of head-wear is usally a baseball style cap. Ocasionally, I don't bother with any sort of head covering, but then, I don't suffer from sunburn..I go red for 2 days then straight to a light tan. (no pain). The other half tends to wear something with a brim all the way around and a draw string to tie it to her head. Sun screen on the nose is also good.

Make the trip to Ontario. Topless is legal here ;)

Haven't had a problem with a properly fitting hat blowing off, a baseball hat is okay but really something with a brim all the way around is better or you will possibly get burned on the neck/ ears.

A Tilley hat would fit that bill plus it'd have straps.

I have found that the Tilley with a brim knocks against the head rest and is uncomfortable to wear. I bought an OR soft brim that works well and it has draw stings. The only problem I put it away last year and can't find it.....yet.
