I don't mean to be rude, but isn't a spoiler on a Smart a bit like a horn in an airplane?

I put one on our red smart and it was ideal for keeping the rear window clean. Didn't think much of it until I drove my wife's silver smart and saw how quickly the rear window got dirty. I just thought it looked cool, but it had function also.

Back in the '70's, The other half and I bought a pair of Gremlin X's. Mine had the rear wind deflector, hers did not. The difference in keeping the rear window clear was amazing. Mine, with the deflector, had little or no road spray on the rear window, but hers would be covered in less that a city block. Hers was like the yellow(ish) one except for the colour. Mine was exactly like the black and gold one (below).
