Rear hatch strut replacement

Dear forum members:

Anyone have instructions on how to replace rear hatch struts? $63 each from the dealer in stock. Almost got bonked in the head as it gave way. Txs,

There's a little C clip at the end connected to the car. Pop that off, then the strut should simply pull away from the body of the car. I think the other end is just a friction fit, so just pull the strut away from the piece mounted on the window, and it should come free. Nothing particularly tricky to the process, and shouldn't take long to replace.
