Goodbye

Just a quick note in case anyone headed to Markham to see me.

Mercedes-Benz, in their infinite wisdom, has decided to lay me off. The reason is that they are eliminating the smart specialist position and only supporting smart in high density areas like downtown Toronto. It's nice that they didn't even consider that I sold about 3x the cars as downtown.

Anyway, if you want a smart now, you'll have to buy it from an MB rep who won't be knowledgeable about the cars, especially the newer 453. In my last few months it was clear that MB was cutting most support towards smart.

I will not be involved with the smart mystery run.

Sorry for the negativity.... it's just hard to accept that after working hard to break all sorts of sales records and support the brand with helping online members and participating in events. And to be laid off on a THURSDAY, the day after doing 5 new car deliveries AND 4 weeks before my wedding reception, was disgusting and a complete lack of professionalism.

I hope everyone has a good rest of 2015. If you want to find me, I'm now at Endras BMW (401 & Salem in Ajax) and Can help with both new and used BMW & Mini.

Wow, that's REALLY disappointing that M-B wouldn't see such talent and dedication to the brand. It was truly a pleasure dealing with you, Noah… the car-buying experience can really suck, but you made it dead-easy, and dare i say, enjoyable.

Best of luck in wherever life takes you next. If you ever need customer testimonials, do not hesitate to ask.

That really sucks! I'm having less and less respect for Mercedes as time goes on.

Best of luck in your new position with BMW and wishing you a long and happy marriage!

I really hate to hear about the loss of your job. I think it is almost to be expected where M/B and smart are concerned. At the local dealer in my town, there is no smart specialist or even smart salespersons. If you want info on a smart, you have to go to the front desk receptionist and request someone to assist you. If you are really lucky, and look very financially sound, you may get someone to talk "down" to you in a half hour or so.

Smart is nothing more than an inconvenience to most M/B dealers in the southern US and I do not see things improving. I hope you are very successful at the new dealership, as you deserve it.

I love my smart and will keep it for a very long time. I just wish it were not treated with disdain by so many dealerships.

The swines. Well BMW makes much better cars than Mercedes anyway. Best of luck in the future.

Sorry to hear that Noah but onto better things in life. Remember work should be a passion and not a job, a long career relies on someone who honors that. And us in the smart community recognizes that :)

Sorry to hear, it really sounds like MB honestly doesn't care about the Smart brand or anyone associated with it... That's depressing.

That's definitely yet another strike against MB Markham for me, as well as MB itself.

Best wishes at the new job!

Noah, we bought our smart ED from you just over a year ago after attempting to buy one at the downtown Toronto and corporate head office (Leaside) locations. You were far more knowledgeable and helpful than the other salespeople. We will miss your enthusiasm and good nature. All the best in your future endeavors. I know you will be successful!

Wow, I'm really impressed and grateful that I had so many friends on the site! I'll do my best to visit if there are any local smart events. Thanks for being a great community!

smart Canada is denying this to be true.

our Mercedes-Benz retailers are responsible for their own HR decisions.

Yeah, but Markham and Downtown Toronto are two of the corporate-owned dealerships… do they still handle their HR at the local level, or do they get their orders from M-B Canada HQ?
