George Barris, world famous creator of the Batmobile and so many other iconic and well-knows custom vehicles, has passed away at age 89.

Known as the 'King of the Kustomisers', he was a regularly invited special guest at the annual Plunkett Fleetwood Custom Cruz'in auto show here in London.

I spoke with him there one year and asked him about the show, and he said it was his favorite car show and he loved attending it because, not only was it the biggest, it was run by "master collector Steve Plunkett" and attended by real car lovers..... "his people" as he put it.

The auto industry has lost a giant.
