A blast from the past

3 posts in this topic

While picking up two sets of highway horns for the smarts, I came across something I hadn't seen in almost 30 years. A motorcycle racing buddy had one that he used in the 1964 Canadian National Winter Rally. (Him in his Volvo and me in my Morris Oxford) I'm taking a guess at the year, but it is in the 1963 - 1965 era. All chrome and wheel covers are OE and the upholstery was professionally done. It even had (what appeared to be) correct-for-the-year driving lights mounted on the 'bumperettes'. Someone obviously spent a lot of time and money on this thing.

This car was at Steve Plunkett's Fleetwood Country Cruize In this year. The owner is a really nice fellow and we swapped a few stories. If I recall, he bought the car off a friend who brought the car from the west coast. Owner's name is Steve Dalton.

Maybe we'll see him there in August. Gotta luv the "prancing moose" .. Volvo's answer to Ferarri's prancing horse.
