· #1 Posted October 23, 2016 · Report post Hello. I am new to the Smart community. I have just purchased a 2006 Smart fortwo. My Question is, is there any specific warranty I should purchase to avoid any extra expense within the upcoming year. The fortwo has 98,000 kn. Thank you for any pointers.. · #2 Posted October 23, 2016 · Report post It's ten years old and I would be surprised if you could buy a warranty for it. Don't bother trying. Do the external relay modification for the low beam headlights and fuel lift pump as described in the operations/maintenance and how-to forums. If you can't do it yourself, pay someone to do it. It shouldn't cost more than $200 to pay someone to do this quick job. Apart from that, put aside half of what you paid for the car in a repair account. Most likely you won't need it, but at this point in the car's life it's better than trying to buy a warranty, which would be full of exclusions if you could get one. · #3 Posted October 23, 2016 · Report post Good afternoon Mike T. I thank you for taking your time to give me a little insight. I have never been overly interested in spending good money on extended warranties. I will take a look at the two above points. Thanks again. Dwayne
