...... and away we go with Smart car outings for 2017......

Glenn & Liz suggested a restaurant just south of London, but easily accessible to most out-of-towners.

Pasto's Grill is part of the Best Western Stoneridge Inn & Conference Centre at Hwys 401and 4 (Colonel Talbot Rd.).

This will be our first outing of the new year, so we picked a very nice Italian bistro.

They have lots of parking and an EV outlet (first come, first served..... can't wait to watch the fist fights).

We thought this would be a great way to spend some of the cash you'll get for Christmas from Nana and Uncle Fred.

The restaurant closes thru the holidays and re-opens on Jan.03rd.

We'll be their first group in 2017, so they've promised to make every effort to make our evening enjoyable.

Not the best night we've had as a group.

The food was quite good and served vey hot, but it took almost an hour to arrive from time we ordered.

Our server wasn't an ad for proficiency either.  I ordered a glass of wine and she opened and left the whole bottle.

Sounds good, but not a $20 Chardonnay for $65.

And why was there only one waitress for 11 of us plus other tables?

Oh well, I guess they can't all be diamonds.

 

For next month, my suggestion is Chuck's Roadhouse, a brand new spot in the former Outback Steakhouse location.

Located at Wellington Rd and Exeter Rd in south London, it met with general approval from most in attendance.

Should be fairly easy to get to in the teeth of early February in southern Ontario.

Simple and reasonably priced roadhouse fare, and since they're new, their efforts should be evident.
