Hello and Thank You for letting me join.

I’m here doing research on 05/06 model yrs. The plan is to buy one in the near future so that we can tow behind our motorhome. If you have ant experience with this please let me know.

Towing on a trailer is OK, otherwise it's prohibited by the manufacturer.

Yup I knew that but 100s if not 1000s are being towed flat 4 behind motorhomes all across North America . The only issue that I have found on many RV forums was someone who admitted they left the car in Park. So we will be towing flat 4

Yes, the 451 can be flat towed safely; the 450 cannot.

Next stupid question. I bet you just love us new guys. Will the rims and tires fit from a 2009 pure on s 2005 pure?  Both coupes.

I tried doing a search but couldn’t find anything

No. The 2009(451) rims on a 2005(450) will rub against the rear shock absorber.

But you can put 450 rims on a 451.

Ok. Is that due to the offset?  The reason I’m asking is a can get a great deal on 4 rims and winter tires from 2009. But we are looking at a 2005.

Thank You I’m assuming that steel rims have the same issue?

we have a scan gauge 2 for our motorhome. Can it be used to read and clear codes in a 450 0rv451?

Same rear wheel offset issue with steel rims.  Best cheap scanner for the 450 & 451 is the Delphi DS150E.  Can read all systems.  Go for MB Star clone if you wish to keep the Smart car for some time.

An old laptop running XP is all you need to run Delphi. Perhaps also load Wurth WoW. Both are near perfect.  Best thing since sliced bread. Avoid later versions.

The scan gauge 2 will read and clear engine codes on a 450 & 451.
