Smart Fortwo electric drive

4 posts in this topic

I am very interested in purchasing a 2015 Smart Fortwo electric drive, but only getting about 60 miles per full charge could potentially be a problem, so I have a quick question. Does the 2015 Smart Fortwo electric drive also have a fuel tank so that in case you do run out of charge, it rolls over to fuel? And if it does contain a fuel tank, what would the mpg be when using fuel?

The smart ED's are all electric. No other engine.

It is what it is.

That really sucks, but thank you!

I've been driving one close to 3 years now and IMHO it is the ideal city car. It is quick, nimble, easy to park, and has extremely low running costs.

95% of my driving is under 50kms(30miles) - like the majority of people. For long distance travels I have a smart diesel or my 1986 Toyota Landcruiser.
