Smart Fortwo brake rotors

5 posts in this topic

Quick question, are rotors on 450, and 451 smart interchangeable?

Reason im asking this is following: Here where i live i found Bosch Rotors for 450 for 70$ a piece, and for 451 i found again Bosch rotors for 70$ a pair. So i guess demand and supply make prices like that, so i was thinking is it maybe possible to use 451 rotors on 450 smart fortwo?

Tnx. :)

451 rotors are 10 mm thick whilst 450 rotors are 9 mm thick.  The extra mm is added on the outboard face of disc. Dimensions are otherwise identical.

should fit yes

some manufacturers seem to list 2005-2007 then 2008 up to 2015ish

some seem to list 2005-2015

i suppose the 2005-2015 ones are selling the 10mm

and possibly for legal reasons the 2005-2007 listing are for old stock of 9mm which may fail inspection if installed on newer cars (if the tech actually does his job and measures for rotor wear)
