still puzzled on glow plugs

Acetone and ATF is like mixing oil and water. They do not mix.

Above jar contains acetone and used ATF in equal measure. After shaking the jar really well it only takes a minute for the two fluids to separate.  Used only by fools.

Yay. I got all 3 out. It looks like 1 was replaced before.   Out of the 3,   2 had no resistance and 1 was reading 13 ohms. I think it's time for a well deserved draft. Lol

Look at the threads, nicely rounded and abused...lol.   I left one of mine in in fear of snapping it...as you said hate doing 2/3's of the job.    It will be dealt with when i back at it, not beating me next time!

My eyes are not the best, I used a magnifying glass to look at the make of the plugs, they are all MB plugs from Germany. I wonder why 2 are tarnished?   Is the engine trying to tell me something? Or is 1 newer than the other 2?

Is the odd one the one that worked?

After a second look I agree that one has been replaced.  The odd one has the printing further down on the plug as well.  So I would say it is from a different production run or even from a different factory.

Didn't your glow plugs come with a small information sheet with them..?  I think it says on that or their box?

i remember just trying one that was larger than the electrode...but went in easily without grabbing any aluminum

grease the flutes...better to grab the carbon than to drop it into the combustion chamber
