Do they have these light pods on the 450's in the UK, or is it something MB had to add to sell them in Canada?

Have you looked at what they look like without them? I bet it's our idiots wanting a side marker light right on the rear corner.  I bet they would look good without them....no...?

That "pod" is exclusive to Canada.  They required them to be added as well as the lights in the grill be turned into turn signals due to the ones in the headlight cluster being a millimeter or so too close to the headlight.

I wonder how many thousands of dollars MB had to spend on each car to bring them across the pond?   We have extra lights, relocated lights, an e-box, etc...

I bet it added $5000 if not to each vehicle which placed a out of touch price tag on them, possibly resulting in them not catching on like they possibly could have.  Just think back then $5000 would have meant a  far more enticing price point seeing they were on the rich end of the scale for what they were...imho.
