Plunkett’s Country Cruizin, Thursday August 08,2019

Once again, thanks to my magnetic personality, charming demeanour, flawless dance moves and overall good looks, I have again been able to set up a Smart Car night at the weekly Plunkett’s Shown’Shine, in conjunction with the Hyde Park and District Lions Club.

I requested and we have reserved Thursday, August 08th.

I’ve also requested and reserved our placement around the lake, as in years past.

I hope as many Smarts as possible an come out.  After all, this is our only real charity effort as a club (entry by donation).

Plus we all do our best to eat as many hamburgers and hot dogs as possible...... also for charity.

The Lion’s Club VP requested that I guarantee good weather on behalf of the Smart Car Group.

I told him that just driving our little cars brings out sunshine both in us and in others, and told him we’d do our best.

Their event has been rained out and/or cancelled the past 6 consecutive weeks, including tonight.

Make a note.  Reserve the date.  Thursday August 08th.   See y’all there.

UPDATE: If, and ONLY IF the weather goes south and the event is cancelled due to rain, it was suggested that arrangements be made for an alternate meeting place.  Although we, as a club visited this location only a few months ago, it is less than 10 minutes from Plunketts and the service, food and prices were within reason. 

 

The location is the Hillside Restaurant, 26 Kilworth Park Drive, Komoka.  I have confirmed that they only require about 10 minutes notice to make things ready for our group, should the need arise. 

 

I hope this meets with the approval of the group.

What a great evening!!! The weather cleared and I believe 17 smart cars were on display.

We had 450's,451's, a 453,an ED and a ROADSTER!!!!

A big thanks to Bohdan for driving from Toronto to show us this unique vehicle. It's hard to believe that it is a 15 year old car - it's in amazing condition!!! A head turner for sure!

Plus one, Glenn.  Amongst the gaggle of smarts were two that are former Car2Go vehicles.  Both looking VERY nice.  I managed to grab a Couple of photos of the Roadster.

It was a great event over-all....excellent. Great food also....lol

 

I got home a few minutes before 1 AM  .......AUGH...!!!!!   Every highway was shut down to a single lane no matter which one we took.....It's surprising how many other people are out and about at that time of night...!
