intercooler fan

5 posts in this topic

This is a continuation from a previous post.   It's 90f outside today and my IC fan will not come on under any condition. So here is what I have checked so far.

The IC fan works, I unplugged it and jumped 12v to it and it is fine.

I plugged it back in then jumped 12v from an ignition terminal on the SAM to the power wire on the IC fan. Fan works (so I know the plug and ground wire are ok).

What else can I check? Is there a fan relay somewhere? Or should I just continue to run it off the ignition?

I don't want to add a toggle switch. I would like to keep it as close to factory as possible.

Thanks

If you unplug the IAT, the fan should come on all the time (with CEL, but u can erase that later)...if the circuit is good.

Is this the sensor that's in the bottom of the IC?

Yes...careful not to break any locking tabs!

Beware they break EASILY....!!!!     Meat hook fingers and  such easily break them....ask me ....yep..!

It can be JBWelded in place if you do but it's not purdy...lol.

You clean it with sensor spray....just a toaster wire...and as brittle as a light bulb filament..!
