This idea was run by the folks that had to refinance their homes to pay for The Keg outing last Tuesday.

The idea seemed to get unanimous approval.

A micro brewery tour followed by pizza delivered to the brewery’s pub.

I’ve made a reservation with Railway City Brewing Co. in St.Thomas with a 6:30’ish tour start.

https://www.railwaycitybrewing.com/

Costs involved are very minor.  Tour only.... about $5 * / Tour + 4 x samples.... $10 *
*..... there may be slight reductions if we have over 10 people.

Plus..... the cost of pizza (total cost divided by the number of people).

There may be snack food available at the brewery (hot dogs, chile, etc).  I’ll let everyone know asap.

Should be a fun evening with a more reasonable cost per person.

Please understand that you DON’T have to drink beer to attend this tour.

Remember that this is a micro-brewery, unlike our tours of Labatt’s brewery.

The tour itself should last about 30 minutes, followed by pizza (ordered during the tour).

I plan to poll the brewery staff and order from the pizzeria that they think is the best in town.

I’ll find out what else will be available in the way of food and post it here asap.

This outing is different than others, and should cost under $20 per person.
Let’s have fun !!

We have found that Al's Pizza is the best in Town.  Located on Elm St. near First Ave.

Thanks for the suggestion Janet.  I’ll add it to my vote list.

Along with pizza, folks can get hot dogs and meatball sandwiches.

Basic bar offerings are available, including house red and white wines.

The tour lasts about 30 minutes (remember, it’s a MICRO brewery) and we’ll sit and eat and sample right after.

We’ll start the tour closer to 6:30, or when most or all people arrive.

I’ve set up the tour for 12, but there’s lots more space available.  They’ve had bus-loads go thru.

Unfortunately, due to an on-going, contagious illness, I will be unable to attend this month's meet.  I hope all who attend have a great time.  Looking forward to seeing results.

What a great outing!  I had a blast.  I hope the others did also.

Only myself, Janet, Bob and Candi came out.  Ralph and Monica e-mailed cancellation.

We held off the tour past 6:30, waiting for any late-comers.

While we waited, staff offered us 6 free samples of some of their beers.

The tour was very good.  Then it was time for some tastings and some sampling flites.
The tour, a 12oz draft and 4 x 4oz samples was $10., tax in.

Saffina (staff & tour guide) brought 6 extra samples plus samples of house red & white wines.

I’m not sure, but I think I’m engaged to her. :)

We didn’t go the pizza route as Candi came directly from her dentist.

Poor girl could hardly talk let alone eat.  She could drink though.

So we finished ‘sampling’ around 8PM and called it a night.

I thought maybe The Dawg House for April.... good food and centrally located.

Anyone have thoughts pro of con?

I'm glad to read that those who showed up had a good time.  Sorry to hear that Candi had the dental thing and was unable to enjoy the pizza.

If this issue I have is gone by next month (hopefully) the Dawg House sounds like a good choice.
