450 (front brakes)

its time to replace my front discs and pads.

where is everyone going for replacement parts?     i'm going to try crappy tire.

Rock Auto has a kit 2 rotors with pads for $55.77 cdn plus shipping.

I used CrappyTire the last time.....or was that the time before.....cheap if I remember correctly.....I like to buy good rotors and crap pads , so the pads wear out faster than the rotors getting eaten up. I also like to get the rotors that are coated for rust etc, not on the wear surface but everywhere else.

Crappy had 2 choices if I remember correctly......but it has been a long while since I bought brakes.

ive used rockauto cheapies with no problems 

 

i cant remember the last brake job ive done without doing rotors and i probably do 30 or 40 a year

 

cant remember where i got my last set for the 450 but they were cheap and they were crossdrilled ...maybe canada brakes or ebay

30 or 40 a year Seriously dude you gotta stop riding the brakes.   

I bought my last set from Fast Eddie Green stuff pads to get away from the brake dust. and new rotors was between 100 and 150 if my memory serves me right.  

Brake dust is still present but not as bad as the stock pads.

its my line of employment ...not my own personal vehicles

 

its the ceramic pads that have less brake dust

Hmmm.....maybe we need to design a Jake Brake into our systems.....lol. Can you imagine that.......BAAAAAA....BAAAAAA......lol  While putting around the city streets or past the quiet zones.....lol

You're a man after my own heart.  Ever since I bought my first diesel 11 years ago, I have been thinking the same thing.  I'm a former truck driver, so Jake-braking is not new to me and I miss it on the little blue beast I call "Bruised".
