Weird vibration

9 posts in this topic

Hi there Smart Peeps,

Haven't posted in a while so I thought I'd come up with something weird to get back on... :-)

Drove the Pure with no shoes last week and upon starting to roll, after having engaged the transmission to D, I felt a short vibration under my left foot (firmly planted on the floor... not near the wheel well).

Since then, I've noticed that it's there all the time on cold starts... last about 5 seconds... real faint vibration... under the left foot.

Any ideas?

The master cylinder and anti-locking system is right there...? Further back is the fuel filter....maybe it's time to change it out?

Master cylinder and anti-locking are way up high behind the driver console... so could it be the brake lines giggling?

It's just below the floor board in front of the driver seat. Left foot planted down... short faint vibration on cold start.
The car is 5 years old but only has 25k km... Fuel filter should still be ok, no? Canadian 91 is not usually "tainted" as far as I know...

OK, so we are describing two completely different cars, my fault for instantly thinking it was the same as the one I have....lol.  A 2005 CDI....lol.

So I'll stick with the Squirrel or Chipmunk wanting out....lol

The brake lines won't vibrate and then settle down, if they are vibrating they would continue to do so at any speed imho.    What about tire issues?  How old are they? Their condition?  I know cold climates have flat spot issues when left too long as I experience this during the winter. After driving they warm up and act normally again. What about maybe a separated cord in the tire? ???    It's not the wife after you have run her over and she finally lets go...?
