9 posts in this topic

I pulled the tray out from bellow the radio, in picture there's a sticker with a 4 digit number, from your experience,  is this the radio code? I tried it, no-go

Nice try....I'll say no also...lol

It's usually written by first owner or dealership inside the original owners handbook.....I have found.   IF not you'll have to go over to Evilution.uk.co and see if Kane is still offering this service.....he used to for his members who donated obviously to his site.

Also ask very politely as he is a stickler for common curtousy so to speak....It is his pet peeve.....we are all different...lol.

It might be.  I believe you need to enter the code and then push the CD button from what I have read.  Never had to do it myself though.

sudbury fine cars probably has it on file...(if any previous owners have been there for service)

stop in one day with your ownership and if youre lucky they will help you out

or if youve ever been there check the bill,,,they show it on your bill for some odd (but often handy) reason

I just had to do mine and it works perfectly.  I'm sure you already know this, but I'll stick it in here just for the heck of it.   There are four buttons to the right of the radio screen.  Enter the first number in the code by pressing button # 1.  Then enter the second number by pressing button # 2.  Code numbers three and four are done the same way entering them by pressing the appropriate buttons.  Then, as Nigel mentioned earlier, press the CD button.  If that number in the little green dot IS the correct code, this will work.

So now you have a working radio??  Do yourself a favour and use a Sharpie and write the number on the body of the radio.  That way, it can be reused if, for some reason, your current car is rendered unusable.

Wrote that number on numerous locations :D, the irony is it's my father's birth year . Now to figure out how to connect phone , as  no actual instructions can be found yet, more or less waiting for rear reluctors, LED s, Fuel filter, then a roadtest

I called the local Merc parts department and he asked for the last 5 or 7 VIN numbers, he put me on hold for a few minutes and bingo the 4 digit number he gave me  worked (no charge).
