13 posts in this topic

I guess its that time again to start planning for 2022. Any ideas? Dates? I would say this year was a success going to Jasper and back.

Places to go for day trips:

- Abraham Lake

- Drumheller

- Reynolds Museum

Places for Multi-day:

- Banff

- Jasper

- Waterton National Park

- Crowsnest Pass

- Radium

Anybody would like to be involve in the planning, please contact me. Spread the word and share this page to bring more awareness.

Both of these places are too far for a day trip for you.  I’ve been to Dinosaur provincial park and suggest taking a tour while there.  Next time we travel west Head-Smashed-In-Buffalo-Jump is on our to do list.

I'll be going no matter the destination (and provided I can get the time off, lol)

Same day or a multi day trip sounds good to be, I'd be down for whatever works for everyone the best.

Highly recommend Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump. We were there in the fall.

Sadly (for us) it looks like our smartie is off to BC for the daughter.

And we are taking the leap for a plug in hybrid. (as the car salesman said we're engaged to EV, not ready to get married yet HAHAHA)

Take care everyone!

So there's at least 2 options here:

A) We do what we did last year. Just follow the old itinerary. Day trip to Jasper, and some of us will probably stay for the night in Hinton and go back to Jasper on Sunday morning.

B) Multiday such as this,

       Day 1

       - Reynold Museum (2-2.5hrs), they open at 10am

       - Lunch (1hr)

       - Dry Island Buffalo Jump (1-1.5hrs)

       - Drive to Drumheller

       - Dinner (1.5hrs)

       - Stay for the night

      Day 2

       - Royal Tyrell Museum (3-3.5hrs), they open at 10am

       - Lunch (1hr)

       - End of Day 2

What do you guys think?

I’d be interested in a 3 day trip to waterton, drive a day, spend a day drive a day kind of thing

I like option B.  2 Day trip. Works the best for me having to only take 1 day off work.

May 28/29 would be my preferred dates, although both would work for me.

A few people have given me feedbacks.

I think we’re going to set the date May 28th/29th. We will be doing the Drumheller trip.

As much as I would like a 3 day trip to Waterton, it’s difficult for most to take days off work. A weekend trip is much easier. If this year goes well, we can plan a longer one for next year.

Ah OK. We were in Drumheller last September, so Waterton would have been more attractive to us. Have a good event!

Oh well, it would've been cool if you come join us!

I can definitely plan for Waterton next year...I've been wanting to go back, its been a few years since.
