So I have a 2006 Diesel, New Battery, freshly rebuilt Alternator, still dead in the morning when I go to start it, pulled out the Sam and cracked it open, all looked great and all the plugs looked great, there was a problem, when I put the Neg of the battery to the bolt on the frame it Sparks, it's like the whole frame is Energized. I have searched everywhere on the car for a hot wire touching the frame, none that I can see. Any ideas, before I get Dynamite

Record all fuse locations and sizes in SAM, remove them all, check battery voltage at terminals, record level, now replace one fuse at a time and see if voltage changes.....if it does it should show there is a draw on that system.  Remember to have all switches etc turned off.   It should show a short draining the charge in the battery.  If I remember correctly, yes a time consuming ordeal but it does work when all else fails.

:)

Stick a headlamp bulb between battery -ve and chassis. Start removing fuses and when the bulb goes out you have found it.
