Love the Vespa 400! French built....I saw a blue one on the road in Vancouver when I was staying overnight at my girlfriend's place in 1983. She is now my wife. Not sure what happened to the car ;)

There is no letter "Y" in the Dutch language; the original was called the "Spijker", which to me looks better when written.

Hey you are right! I must have been confusing it with the Spijker Formula One team. Anyway, it's true that Dutch has no "Y" in their alphabet. It's replaced by "IJ".

Yeah, they must do the Y for the benefit of other countries. Interestingly, the "y" looks like an "ij" in the script on the page you pointed to. Deliberate ambiguity?
