Hi, I have just joined this forum as I am trying to discover whether all Smart for Twos have air conditioning. My smart car is a Smart for two City Pulse and was registered in 2003. I aquired this car last year. On the safety triangle of controls on the dashboard there is no original button for air condition but there is a button that someone has put in that looks as if it is for air conditiong. I have pressed it on and feel no difference in the temperature of the car. So I turned it back off (at least i think so but there are no lights on this switch to confirm it is off) but I have seen a dramatic drop in fuel economy now. I had the car serviced in September 2009 and it was a full service, filters, plugs, thew lot but am now struggling to get any more than 30mpg out of the car. Can anyone help?

The pusles did not all have A/C, it was an option. I suspect your FE decrease is due to something other than pressing a phantom switch!

A lot of fuel consumption issues are related to the fuel pedal (and how it is used). smile.gif

I would suspect if there is an extra button (and not a factory one) on the triangle that more than a switch has been put in - perhaps the former owner has changed a few other things (and buggered them up) - might explain some of your service issues with the car.

Cheers,
Cameron
