So this morning I decide to go around with a socket and make sure the TPMS nuts are Torqued to spec.

But when I got to the one where my tire had the leak from, the one that the Mech said they had to epoxy it a bit cause it got hit but "could have happened anywhere", I needed a different socket size..........and an Imperial one too.......WTF!!!!!!!!

Why do people get snobby at small shops?? Hmmmm, because every time I don't either go to MB, or Porsche, or Audi, something gets messed up and they hide it and lie rather than fix it properly.

I have an aviation background and standard when it comes to quality and work ethic. Am I wrong for expecting the same kind of treatment on a car. Why are the majority of car mechanics that I have ever met, such lying, deceitful, unprofessional, morons. Where are the good ones and where can I find one? It seems to me that I should be an honest Mechanic and ditch flying. I'd make $$$$$$$$$ all because I would not lie to people and have some accountability.

This is why I don't trust people with my car. I normally end up catching there mistakes, researching how to fix it right and do it my self. Gaaaaa

OK Rant over.

That said, the TPMS system seems to be working fine. Will having one non Smart TPMS sensor some how mess up the others. It tests fine, and it did come on when my tire lost air.

Pls Help.

It's probably the same frequency (433?) but as you say, a different socket size.

I'm trying to decide if I will add one back to my 451, or just remove the other 3 and sell 'em cheap.

Bought my TPMS stems from tire rack when I purchased the additional tires to have four of the same size. The stems were only $39.00 US and seem to work just fine. And yes they are 433mhz.

Tire Rack are awesome.

BTW - Does anyone know the torque off hand for the TPMS valves? Perhaps this is the problem, over-tightening them breaks 'em, under-tightening and they leak......
