Despite being early in the new year, there are already plans for a number of different smart events in 2015.  While many of these events are based in the US, Canadians are more than welcome to attend those as well.  There are also a few Canadian events in the planning phases as well, so have a look at those too!
 
Probably the first large event of the year is the Ohio April Fools rally, taking place April 10th-12th, 2015.  The rally will be held somewhere around Central Ohio (Location not yet determined), and is being organized by jwight.  Last years rally ended with the group touring the Ohio State Reformatory, the filming location of The Shawshank Redemption.  For further details on this years event, click through to the SCoA thread HERE
 
The next major event of the year is the Midwest Smart Rallye, "Meet me in St. Louie".  This event is taking place in St. Louis, Missouri from June 5th to 7th.  This one is shaping up to be a big event, with 20 cars signed up already.  For more details on the midwest rally, click HERE
 
Proposed for the same time frame is the Summer Blat, starting in Red Deer, Alberta, and ending in Lake Louise, Alberta.  The schedule outlined puts the event as running from June 5th until June 8th.  If you are interested in this event, post over in the thread HERE
 
Following up after that is the ever popular "OutSMARTing the Dragon" event.  Running from August 20th to August 23rd, this event pits drivers against the twisty-turny Tail of the Dragon, also known as US 129.  The Tail of the Dragon is an 11 mile stretch of road through the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, with 318 curves.  The event will be based out of the Fontana Village Resort in Fontana Dam, North Carolina.  For the full details, follow THIS link.
 
Finally, one event which is still in the "gathering interest" phase, is a 2015 Summer Driver's Training event that Mike T is looking to put together.  The event would be at a track (potentially Pitt Meadows or the Mission Raceway) in BC.  This event also holds the potential of being another 10th Anniversary of Smart in Canada event.  Because this event is just gathering interest, there is no set date.  If you are interested in participating in this, or would like to provide some input, look HERE

A separate registry of the smart fortwo 450's that were imported into the USA by G&K has now been put online!  Currently we have 114 of the cars in our registry, and are looking to find and enter the information for the rest of them.  The registry can be found HERE, or under the "Car Registries" menu at the top of the page.  The same disclaimer as we applied for the Canadian registry applies here:

ClubsmartCar has prepared a comprehensive Registry of all smart 450s (1998-2006 models) that we are aware of in North America.  We certainly have all 10,239 of the Canadian 450s, and we are making headway on adding the approximately 1,300 US 450s that were converted to meet US DOT certification by G&K in California.

In compiling the data within the Registry, we have added information concerning the colours and options that the cars spotted in person or on the Internet are known to have, whether they have been in collisions or have been declared “Salvage”, “Scrapped”, “Rebuilt”, or whether the engine is known to have had a serious internal failure.  This information has been collected from various sources.  It may therefore be of variable quality.  However, we hope that you find it interesting, and useful.

We are also looking to have updated information added from time to time, and in this quest, any information that you may be able to contribute may be submitted, and may be displayed after the content is reviewed.

As time and circumstances allow, we will be adding the 451 and eventually the 453 model to the Registry.

The bushings are probably busted (they are noisy and rough), and the right bearing is heavy and noisy. I couldn't see if the springs are broken or not, but both top collars are loose. (I'll trust CANMAN on that one). But I was getting ready to replace ALL ball joints, drop links, control arms, shocks...
