Despite being early in the new year, there are already plans for a number of different smart events in 2015.  While many of these events are based in the US, Canadians are more than welcome to attend those as well.  There are also a few Canadian events in the planning phases as well, so have a look at those too!

Probably the first large event of the year is the Ohio April Fools rally, taking place April 10th-12th, 2015.  The rally will be held somewhere around Central Ohio (Location not yet determined), and is being organized by jwight.  Last years rally ended with the group touring the Ohio State Reformatory, the filming location of The Shawshank Redemption.  For further details on this years event, click through to the SCoA thread HERE

The next major event of the year is the Midwest Smart Rallye, "Meet me in St. Louie".  This event is taking place in St. Louis, Missouri from June 5th to 7th.  This one is shaping up to be a big event, with 20 cars signed up already.  For more details on the midwest rally, click HERE

Proposed for the same time frame is the Summer Blat, starting in Red Deer, Alberta, and ending in Lake Louise, Alberta.  The schedule outlined puts the event as running from June 5th until June 8th.  If you are interested in this event, post over in the thread HERE

Following up after that is the ever popular "OutSMARTing the Dragon" event.  Running from August 20th to August 23rd, this event pits drivers against the twisty-turny Tail of the Dragon, also known as US 129.  The Tail of the Dragon is an 11 mile stretch of road through the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, with 318 curves.  The event will be based out of the Fontana Village Resort in Fontana Dam, North Carolina.  For the full details, follow THIS link.

Finally, one event which is still in the "gathering interest" phase, is a 2015 Summer Driver's Training event that Mike T is looking to put together.  The event would be at a track (potentially Pitt Meadows or the Mission Raceway) in BC.  This event also holds the potential of being another 10th Anniversary of Smart in Canada event.  Because this event is just gathering interest, there is no set date.  If you are interested in participating in this, or would like to provide some input, look HERE

A separate registry of the smart fortwo 450's that were imported into the USA by G&K has now been put online!  Currently we have 114 of the cars in our registry, and are looking to find and enter the information for the rest of them.  The registry can be found HERE, or under the "Car Registries" menu at the top of the page.  The same disclaimer as we applied for the Canadian registry applies here:

ClubsmartCar has prepared a comprehensive Registry of all smart 450s (1998-2006 models) that we are aware of in North America.  We certainly have all 10,239 of the Canadian 450s, and we are making headway on adding the approximately 1,300 US 450s that were converted to meet US DOT certification by G&K in California.

In compiling the data within the Registry, we have added information concerning the colours and options that the cars spotted in person or on the Internet are known to have, whether they have been in collisions or have been declared “Salvage”, “Scrapped”, “Rebuilt”, or whether the engine is known to have had a serious internal failure.  This information has been collected from various sources.  It may therefore be of variable quality.  However, we hope that you find it interesting, and useful.

We are also looking to have updated information added from time to time, and in this quest, any information that you may be able to contribute may be submitted, and may be displayed after the content is reviewed.

As time and circumstances allow, we will be adding the 451 and eventually the 453 model to the Registry.

The Canadian 450 registry can be found HERE, or by following the "Car Registries" menu at the top of the page.

@  Mike T : (25 May 2015 - 09:43 PM) ouch. We stayed at the Fairmont Monte Carlo and every other Fairmont I have stayed at was better! Still it was fun having the RCZ pulled up outside the main entrance.

@  Francesco : (25 May 2015 - 09:39 PM) Anchored off Monaco for the weekend, tenders to Fontvieille, three different grandstands, "Formula 1 Paddock Club®”, Ferrari paddocks, Pirelli hospitality area, top of Yacht Club... This shore excursion was a bucket-lister for sure. US$15k pp
@  Francesco : (25 May 2015 - 09:31 PM) A friend who works at Google went this weekend. Hopped a Monaco GP cruise aboard Crystal from Lisbon-Barcelona-Monaco (Fontvieille)-Rome
@  Mike T : (25 May 2015 - 08:03 PM) Driving that course is fun in a street car, like the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. In an F-1 car I can imagine the frustration.
@  Francesco : (25 May 2015 - 07:40 PM) Rascasse is the only real passing area, after Piscine.
@  marchanna : (25 May 2015 - 08:47 AM) I'm usually good for watching a few laps, but then I get bored. I would prefer to be in the race.
@  Leadwing : (25 May 2015 - 07:33 AM) Monaco is a horrible place to try and pass. For most of the track, only the extremely brave (or stupid) try it on the track. Most will try to 'undercut' during a pitstop. That said, Lewis Hamilton's crew really screwed things up for him.
@  Mike T : (24 May 2015 - 08:46 PM) But it was cool to see JPM win the 500 again, it was a great drive
@  Mike T : (24 May 2015 - 06:31 PM) Monaco sucks at the best of times - this year it hit a new low
@  jwight : (24 May 2015 - 05:41 PM) Somehow the parade left Lewis Hamilton out...
    @  Mike T : (24 May 2015 - 12:16 PM) Great Indy 500 today, in contrast with the dismal F1 Monaco parade.
    @  smart65 : (21 May 2015 - 11:57 AM) Thanks
@  FlossyTheSmart : (21 May 2015 - 06:48 AM) You can now also click on the number of comments and it will take you to the shop page with the comments on it
@  FlossyTheSmart : (21 May 2015 - 06:36 AM) If you click on the shop name, it will take you to a page just for that shop, with the full details. I'll make the comment count a link to the page as well.
    @  smart65 : (21 May 2015 - 06:28 AM) How can comments be accessed in Service Options?
    @  Mike T : (20 May 2015 - 11:39 AM) PM sent of manual excerpt
    @  Mike T : (20 May 2015 - 11:37 AM) It's in the owners manual all right
@  Huronlad : (20 May 2015 - 08:47 AM) There are numerous threads about the "three bars of death", make use of the forum search feature and do some reading.
    @  1EGRBVR : (20 May 2015 - 06:39 AM) Thanks. I see nothing in the owners manual.
    @  Mike T : (20 May 2015 - 06:31 AM) *Check
    @  Mike T : (20 May 2015 - 06:31 AM) Gheck your owners manual, it is a gearbox fault.
@  1EGRBVR : (20 May 2015 - 06:07 AM) On the instrument cluster where the LED shows the gear you are in or A for Automatic, I am showing 3 vertical lines instead going across.  Has anyone else encountered this?   This happened after I changed the rear signal light.
@  Mike T : (19 May 2015 - 08:13 PM) Le Club 404 and some private sector guys in Europe are picking up on this big-time.
@  marchanna : (19 May 2015 - 04:38 PM) That makes good sense. Do you hope to get service parts made or custom built?
@  Mike T : (19 May 2015 - 03:07 PM) Strength in numbers....parts reproductions are more likely if we know there are 2000 or more coupes and cabriolets left...plus I have wanted to know this (how many are left) since 1977 when I first wanted to buy one.
@  marchanna : (19 May 2015 - 08:27 AM) Good stuff! Just out of curiosity, is there a practical purpose for the registry or is it just for fun?
    @  Mike T : (18 May 2015 - 07:57 PM) Got some new 404s for the Registry, boo yeah!
    @  marchanna : (18 May 2015 - 04:04 PM) Sup?
    @  marchanna : (15 May 2015 - 04:06 AM) Haha. I just watched that skit last night.
