Nope - constant problem with our building, and annual topic of persistent gripe at every AGM - in fact just to the left is the giant white sign saying it's a private, numbered-space lot.

Good one!
The only problem I can forsee is that if this 'driver' is so ignorant as to take your marked parking spot, it bears the question, would he/she be just as ignorant and put it in reverse in an attempt to push you out of the way, severely damaging your door? Not all people would call a tow truck............something to think about. It's been an ongoing issue; I moved into this building when it opened and in the last 2.5 years we've had nothing but problems. It's the only "Big" lot right downtown so people sneak in and constantly park in our spots. Most of the people here are really active too so the lot is like half full at any given moment. Over the holidays you can count on one hand the number of cars in the lot! So the management company that oversees the condo stuff worked a deal that the towing company charges the person who's taken your spot (not the owner of the spot, as would normally be the case).
Sadly the police wouldn't authorize the tow and talked me out of it, and I parked in visitors for the night. And the bylaw officer never showed up at least ticket them, either. Grr. You win this time, Matrix... -Iain -------------------- |

Have had people try and follow us into our parking lot in the condo - and it is under the building with a sliding gate - not sure how they would expect to leave - we are 1 block over from the arena so we get to see lots of really stupid parking.
There is always the concept of air magically escaping from several tires too...... Cheers, Cameron -------------------- "Lucy" 2006 Passion - Ruby Red - sunroof - black tridion

In my condo, I call the towing, and they tow the vehicle.
No police to call. Your management company and owners council need to do a bit more work to set this up right. -------------------- ![]() ScanGauge II Special CsC pricing in effect! Only $149.95 w/FREE shipping! Best mileage to date: 2.23 L/100km - 105 mpg (US) - 126 mpg (imp) |

: shrug : They've investigated it over 2 years, and said that the procedure is that the Police must be involved. I'm just following the rules; it may be different in BC than in Ontario. The towing companies won't move the car unless the Police are there.

You used to be able to buy stickers to put on the windows of incorrectly parked vehicles.
Various sized, relatively small ones for driver's windows, simply explaining an illegal parking issue and requesting future compliance. There was also a larger one for the front window, for the hardened, chronic parking offender. These stuck to the glass like a SOB!! Driver had to either scrape them off or use some solvent to remove. Used at various companies I've been with or dealt with over the years. Quite effective, and probably worth looking into. -------------------- Got Lil'Toot, a loaded Phat Red Passion Coupe mid-June/05, and love it! License plate '75 MPG'

You win this time, Matrix... That's brutal! I probably would have had a meltdown and horked on the Matrix or something stupid like that! Why does the police have to authorize the tow? If the vehicle was trespassing and the license plate isn't registered (either with the condo or security guard, etc...) then can't it be towed at the owner's expense + lot fees, etc...? Or at least towed to a street parking spot where the car can be ticketed for the tow and a parking violation? I know in Germany my uncle has this metal post that can be folded down when parking and then folded up and locked when he is out running errands, etc... |

You could have insisted on it being tagged.
That happened to me once, i came in from out of town and a vehicle parked in my spot. I called the cops and when they showed up they didn't want too tag it but I insisted. In fact I demanded. I told him if he didn't do his job and tag the illegally parked vehicle i would have him written up on a formal complaint come monday morning. The vehicle was tagged and towed and not at my expense either. it was towed to police impound where the owner would have to cough up the ticket and towing/storage fees. The only prob with that is that yer paranoid yer car will get keyed or some other such nonsense after that. I was lucky i had an old beat too s*it truck that i wouldn't have cared. -------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
