@  FlossyTheSmart : (04 August 2015 - 07:11 AM) either way, sounds like overboost to me
@  dmoonen : (04 August 2015 - 07:07 AM) *free up the wastegate. Soot blocks it on the inside :)
@  FlossyTheSmart : (04 August 2015 - 06:58 AM) Overboost perhaps? Might need to lube the wastegate
@  Markjohn : (04 August 2015 - 06:10 AM) Hello mate all has been checked by a smart independent called fudge smart of Cambridge England and that still don't no wot to do yet cos all coming back as ok till u drive car like u have stolen it and then it goes in to limp mode .then u turn car off and restart it and it ok
@  Markjohn : (04 August 2015 - 03:17 AM) will try this ok thanks for your help
@  stickman007 : (03 August 2015 - 06:42 PM) Markjohn: check your engine harness before replacing anymore parts! Most MB dealership are close to useless when it comes to repairing smarts...find a good smart independent mechanic (I recommend smart142)
@  stickman007 : (03 August 2015 - 06:38 PM) Mine just started working again today
@  FlossyTheSmart : (03 August 2015 - 11:56 AM) And on that same topic, if you ARE getting emails, it would also be handy to know that they are in fact going out!
@  FlossyTheSmart : (03 August 2015 - 10:21 AM) If anyone is still having issues with not getting emails from CsC, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know!
@  FlossyTheSmart : (03 August 2015 - 10:21 AM) OK, I think I've set up a workaround so that emails will go out as usual. Now I need to figure out why the previous config (Which has been working for years) isn't working anymore. The last email I got from CsC was July 22nd
@  Markjohn : (03 August 2015 - 09:47 AM) Hello all my smart 800 diesel keeps going in to limp mode it had 3 boost sensors had dia gnostic at Mercedes andthay don't no wot 2 do next any ideas please
@  FlossyTheSmart : (03 August 2015 - 09:38 AM) Uh oh, just discovered CsC hasn't been able to send emails for a while :\
@  Francesco : (01 August 2015 - 09:31 AM) Cool, thanks
@  CANMAN : (01 August 2015 - 03:55 AM) Yes it's Max
@  Francesco : (01 August 2015 - 12:39 AM) I forget who in the NCR was printing SGII brackets. max? It's that time of year when the heat inside my parked smart causes the heavy duty Velcro to unglue from both surfaces, which puts strain on the wonky RJ45 and causes the SAM to throw a P0113 code...
@  marchanna : (28 July 2015 - 11:51 AM) Yup. Sometimes the simplest is the best.
@  Mike T : (28 July 2015 - 11:07 AM) Best idea yet!
@  marchanna : (28 July 2015 - 08:39 AM) It fits nicely in the back of the Benz if I put the seats down. I just thought it would be novel to put it on the back of the Smart.
@  Francesco : (27 July 2015 - 08:10 PM) Or wheelie bars
@  Mike T : (27 July 2015 - 08:07 PM) Preferably, use a larger vehicle.
@  Francesco : (27 July 2015 - 08:05 PM) I would think a trailer is your only option. The physics is just wrong in a couple of dimensions to be hanging 300 lbs behind the rear wheels
@  marchanna : (27 July 2015 - 07:27 PM) Check it out: can-drift.com
@  marchanna : (27 July 2015 - 07:21 PM) It's an electric drift trike. I wanted to see if I could fab a vertical rack on the back of the Smart. The trike weighs about 200lbs - I could probably build an aluminum rack as light as 50lbs - but that still the exceeds the tongue weight of the hitches, thought maybe the towing bolt holes could hold a little more weight.
@  Francesco : (27 July 2015 - 04:50 PM) even the trunk weight is recommended to be no more than 50 kg...
@  Francesco : (27 July 2015 - 04:49 PM) Wow, I have no idea what you're attempting but that sounds like too much weight for the rear of the smart altogether, not just for the two bolts.
@  marchanna : (27 July 2015 - 08:01 AM) I want to hold about 300lbs across of them.
@  marchanna : (27 July 2015 - 07:59 AM) Yes
@  Francesco : (27 July 2015 - 07:43 AM) Vertical?
@  marchanna : (27 July 2015 - 06:32 AM) Anyone know how much load the towing eye bolt hold in the rear bumper of a 451 can carry?

$250 for a rebuilt seems very reasonable.... that's a lot less than new.

Reasonable indeed - the bits that go into European alternators to rebuild them are pricey too - so it would be hard to touch that price at a local rebuild place.Cheers,Cameron

We have stock again. Some people like the deal so much. They don't bother to return the cores.

Very happy to see this offering! Could see possible demand for rebuilt, blueprinted port/polished turbo too. Available in the East from Cherry Turbos but nothing out here AFAIK.B :sun:

I haven't read of turbo failures here for a LONG time, so it seems to be a relatively low-demand repair. My older one has 216,000 km on the original turbo and I think it'll go to 400K.
