@  FlossyTheSmart : (03 March 2015 - 12:46 PM) It should probably be wiki-fied too, when someone has an opportunity.
@  Mike T : (03 March 2015 - 12:25 PM) I just pinned it because it is excellent. I should do this for the two headlamp circuits too.

A Chinese Website Sold 300 Smart Cars In 90 Minutes

Travis Okulski

Smart cars are far from the fastest vehicles on the road. But they sure are flying out of one Chinese retailer.

According to China Daily, Chinese website Jingdong, in a joint venture with Smart owner Mercedes Benz, made 300 of a limited-edition, Pearl Gray Smart ForTwo available for sale on their site.

The cars sold out in 89 minutes.

What is even more amazing is that 17,200 people added the car to their watch lists, presumably so they could buy one when it became available.

Jingdong sold the 300 cars all across China, not just to wealthier areas, China Daily reports. Last year, China became Smart's third largest market with astounding 180 percent growth.

This method could very well be the future of automotive sales in China.

It will be interesting to see how this changes promotions in the future.

Glad they like 'em. This bodes well for the marque.
