This is the first i've heard of this:

Has anyone else heard of using acetone to improve mileage and reduce emissions? Basically, the science of it says that acetone aids in the vapourization of gasoline and diesel fuel, resulting in more complete combustion.

I'm intrigued.

Yes, I've heard of this.
Mythbusters included this in their episode on things to improve fuel economy. While they are far from scientific, they didn't find any improvement using acetone.

The main thing i'd be concerned about is the acetone's effect on the plastic and rubber parts in engine and fuel system. But it might be interesting for some of you with ScanGauges to do some experimentation.

Good idea. And when your done let us know how your plastic parts are doing. laugh.gif
