Can anybody tell me what the plug socket in the battery well is for? Block heater?, thought that was on the front of the car. Maybe I have an electric engine too smile.gif Its a 2006 CDI

The standard 3-prong plug found there can be used for a battery maintainer or a cabin heater (the last is what mine is used for). AFAIK, the '06 should have a block heater as well. When the car is plugged in at the front, both the block heater and the female 3-prong plug should be live.
